  1. Thanks, Colin, there is my problem. The post was open. Hope you had a nice weekend.
  2. Never mind, I just needed a bit more time to think it thru. You need to make sure the post has the custom cycle data included.
  3. Why is it every time I change a computer or try to pass some changes in my control def to another programmer I loose the custom drill cycles that I have setup? They never seem to come along with the switch. We have probe routines setup in the custom cycles and I always seem to have to re type them in.
  4. Thanks guys, as usual the core group here is always wiling to share and help someone who is stuck. I will try and give the Okuma mother-ship a jingle.
  5. We have an Old Okuma Howa with a 15-M control. It has erred on a few tool changes over the years and we have a few pockets that now are referenced as tool zero. Where can I set the parameters to get this thing straightened out?
  6. Thanks guys, no multi axis, I tried flowline and contour still not what i was looking for. I just created a 3d contour and am cutting it with a dove tail cutter, it will work for this application.
  7. First time for me with this. I have a tube with a slot going thru one side, need to mill a radius between the slot wall and the I.D. The solid is sound. I defined a lollipop tool and am trying to cut it with a blend path. MC rejects the lollipop and generates a path with a spherical tool. I am not getting the path I need. What am I missing?
  8. I happen to have a need for a stock model at the moment, first time user. Once I create it can you turn it on and off in the GUI like I do with solids by making the the layer visible or not?
  9. I thought I might tap the resources here for some suggestions. I am looking for a high feed drill to punch holes for round milling larger bores. We are a short run job shop and when it comes to larger bores we round mill when we can. Materials we cut run the full spectrum, alum thru 4140, rarely exotics. We have a couple of 40 taper DV1500 Mori MCS with thru spindle coolant here and would like to put a 3/4ish drill in the tool changer just for quickly punching start holes, 2.50 DOC would work. Thoughts?
  10. Hello, I am looking to set up a few different machines using the Machine Definition as they are meant to be used. There are only minor differences between the machines, max rpm, tapping, home codes and such. There are posts setup for the differences and right now the guys are changing the post processor rather than changing the machine. I know the Machine is linked to the control and the control is linked to the post. How can I just make copies of what I have and set the links form the machine to the control? Thanks
  11. Renishaw, I have the macros, it has to be a parameter. Thanks for the help and quick responses guys. I will check 3708 first thing on Monday. Enjoy your weekend.
  12. It is a machining center and yes there is a probe installed I will look at 3708. Thanks
  13. I have have never been much of a contributor here but I try and help out when I can. I have started a new job and I am working on a Monarch machine with a Fanuc 18i control. The machine was bought used and it seems that the machine builder is a small U.S. Company. I have emailed Monarch but they have not provided much help. The machine and control are set up so that it will not execute a G01 with out the spindle running. Beyond it being a big annoyance when running and setting up, it makes it impossible to use a spindle probe. I am in need of some help here any direction would be great. Thanks
  14. Thanks for taking a look Josh, tried it on my end and still all G01s. Might be a MD or CD setting.
  15. Hey Colin thanks for taking a look at it. Your guidance on this forum is unparalleled, I always take a peek at a thread that I see you are involved in. I did mess with waterline after I posted and found the same as you. I do not do too much 3d stuff and I have a bad taste in my mouth with waterline from V9 so It is not my first choice. As far as the step over our plunge guy is over the top picky so I over do the settings a bit. Thanks again.
  16. Got this simple electrode and I cannot get it to code circular interpolation no matter the filter settings. What am I missing? filter issues.mcx-9
  17. I want to add some sense to saving our ever evolving posts. I am planning on saving them as versions and as we move foreword just add the latest version to the control definition. Then if there is a problem we can easily switch back to a proven version. We have a few seats of M/C and we keep our machine defs, operatons and tools files on the server. The last time I added a post I lost all of the pointers to the files on the server. I really don't want to have to reset this stuff, is there a way of avoiding this? Is using more than one post for a machine common?
  18. Hey Colin, who are these other people running the VB stuff? I thought that I was alone on this. I would not mind sharing notes.
  19. Sorry guys I worked this out and never came back to finish out the post. I pull the Plane Name with pparameter$ #20012 this gives me the name, I just save it at the beginning of the post and then run the post block above when needed. Thanks for everybody's input.
  20. Thanks Tim I understand your application but I am looking to handle this during the posting of the program.
  21. I am working on adding a bit of error handling to our post. We program all of the part flips in one Mastercam file. At times we are copying operations between different planes and at times the plane does not get changed thus creating a bo-bo at the machine. I have added the post block below to our post. pcheck_plane if sav_workofs <> workofs$, [ result = mprint(splanewarn,2) if result = 2, exitpost$ ] It is not fool proof though since often we use the same work offset for all the setups. I tried using the variable tlplnno for the logic but I always get a return of 1. The other thought was to use the Tool Plane name string for the logic. Not sure if and how I can pull that string though. Any help would be appreciated.
