  1. It all boils down to who touched the post as Colin would attest. I inherited a Postability post that was not aligned with a Siemens 840D that was supposedly a fully baked post. I found a company, worked with the post writer with my expected output, we got it all dialed in on the second iteration.
  2. I have had it change the active number of teeth from 1 to 2, which makes an interesting thread.
  3. Obviously the ends must justify the means. I have retrofitted a Robodrill and DMG Milltap to toolchange, using only 1-pocket, and utilizing custom M-Codes to operate (2) 150,000 RPM turbine spindles. Its pretty cool drilling holes at 160 I.P.M with a #75 carbide drill. BTW...I have (6) Cat 30, 65,000 RPM, Air Turbine Spindles, never used, for sale if anyone is interested.
  4. I use them all as others have mentioned, its machine based as well as part and path specific which drives my decision.
  5. I found a couple of bugs 2017 which Mastercam has been very responsive to helping resolve. The first issue is with chamfer mills, I must use a 0.000 tip due to the parts we make, although the edit tool parameters will not recognize and backplot a 0.000 tip, yet when you change it to a 0.0001 tip it backplots accordingly. There appears to be a import/merge issue with native solidworks files, which is under review. But the secret squirrel issue of the day is how to insert a line, or a point, at a specific location, and I found out that all that is required it to tap the "X" on the keyboard to open the dialog box. Mastercam Maintenance has its benefits, and immediate support goes a long way when trying to get answers quickly, and accurately.
  6. I had similar issues, and after enough investigation I was told "IF" the machine (Specifically Haas) is not grounded properly, you could drop data connectivity, therefore I purchased a filter from a DNC distributor for $99, plugged it in to the control, and I have not had an issue since.
  7. There is not a story other than what I had asked for above. They have been very helpful with repairing the bad stuff I inherited. I cannot find this line in ptap$ as E value now is outputting "E0" I have ptap$ #Canned Tap Cycle pdrlcommonb pcan1, pbld, n$, *sgdrill, *sgdrlref, pxout, pyout, pfzout, pcout, prdrlout, *pitch, "R1" strcantext, e$ pcom_movea Thanks in advance.
  8. This seems way too easy, why didn't my reseller understand this? I will test this Monday. Thank you.
  9. I am looking for a little help with modifying my post to "Tap' for a Mitsubishi control (Yes I know, was not my choice) and their build date was in 1996. Is there a way to modify the post within Mastercam to get the desired output? I must manually edit tap cycles for three machines, any help is greatly appreciated. I have tried my reseller, although he is not sure how to get these results. Sample... Normal Haas/Fanuc 10-32 tap cycle X3.07 Y-.187 S400 M3 G43 H5 Z1. M8 G84 G98 Z-.6 R.06 F12.5 Our Mitsubishi 10-32 tap cycle X3.07 Y-.187 S400 M3 G43 H5 Z1. M8 G84 G98 Z-.6 R.06 E32 , R1 <<< Threads Per Inch / Rigid tap Thank you in advance
  10. I can, although its not a real cam, I am on my way into the office, and will post ASAP.
  11. I have a similar issue with milling a cam on a horizontal full-forth, I have a solid model that is 21.3 in diameter, I use an x-axis substitution and when I chain the geometry and when I watch the backplot the tool bounces off of the edge leaving an uneven machining operation. I know there is a way to smooth this out, yet my reseller or Mastercam has not been able to explain how to achieve a smooth toolpath. I am using the generic 4-axis that came with X7 and our custom post. What check boxes should I use, or should I only use a centerline and compensate both sides?
  12. Thank you for responding, I Dl'd the reports, although I could not get the (Manual Entry comments in your Operations Manager) to post in the active report trying the various files on the FTP. I am sure I a click off somewhere, although I have not had another minute to sort it out. Edit: Got it, TY!!! Jeff
  13. Sir, How did you get the comments to display? Was this from a manual entry on the tree or another source? Ty in advance.
  14. 3rd String, you are the bomb, that was the step I was missing. Is there any customization to the current X+ such as placing a company logo and adjusting font size and such?
