  1. For example: "A" rotary axis (primary axis , "X" axis of rotation) rotaxis1$ = vecy #Zero axis rotdir1$ = vecx #direction of rotation "C" rotary axis (secondary axis, "Z" axis of rotation) rotaxis2$ = vecx #Zero axis rotdir2$ = vecz #direction of rotation Are above setups right?
  2. Is there anyone who could explain me the meaning of rotaxis1-2$ and rotdir1-1$? In case of rotary table A (rotation about X) and C (rotation about Z) how I have to setup the parameters aforementioned? Note: X, Y and Z is in the machine base coordinate system. Thanks for reply.
  3. Hello everyone, I need help with generic fanuc 5x post processor. I am trying to post a contour toolpath having "Left Side" as TPlane (G55 origin defined) and "Top" as WCS. This is the results: .................. N41 T1 M6 N51 G0 G55 G90 X15. Y5. A-90. C-90. S4000 M3 N61 G43 H1 Z50. N71 M88 N81 Z10. N91 G1 Z0. F800. N101 G41 D1 X10. F1500. N111 G3 X5. Y0. J-5. F150. N121 G1 Y-40. F1500. ........................ I would like having both rotations A and C positive in CW direction so it should be C equal to +90 and not -90. Also what is posted as "X" coordinates should be "Y" coordinates and vice versa (i.e. the coordinates x and y should be the same as those corresponding to "Left Side" TPlane. Some help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
  4. Thanks a lot for explanation. Could you show me an example of instruction G10 applied to work-offsets coordinates storage?
  5. Thanks for reply. I know that I need to use probing and measuring during machine job setup and the CAD model can give only the "nominal" location of work-offset coordinate. I was thinking about some kind of G instruction and/or subprogram in which I could store the coordinate X,Y,Z of work-offsets and that, it could be called in the main program for next production lots after the first have been worked out.
  6. Hi everyone, I am a rookie at using mastercam, I am trying to understand some concepts. Here is my curiosity: 1) How to make it possible to show in the g-code program, the coordinates of work-offests in machine coordinate system? 2) Do I need to modify the post-processor or it is possible to implement it directly in the mastercam? Thanks in advance for kind reply.
  7. Thanks a lot. What about the center of rotation? The center is the origin of my CPlane / TPlane or that of WCS?
  8. Hi everyone, granted that I am a beginner in using mastercam, I need help on the following topics: Implementation of rotation around B-axis (i.e. rotation about Y axis) with MPFAN post-processor (Mastercam default machine). I would like to use Mastercam default machine as an horizontal milling center with axes of motion XYZB. How should I set up the WCS and CPlane/TPlane to obtain rotation about B-axis? Any suggestions or tips would be welcommed. Thanks in advance.
  9. Hi everyone, I need some help to implement a rough operation on undercut by surface contour feature (at least I think that is the right feature to be used). The T-slot mill has a cutting diameter of 80mm, a flute length of 4mm and a shank diameter of 25mm. The undercut has obtained by a 3D-sweeping of a cross section along a 3D off-plane path. I am attaching an image of undercut design and relative mcx file. In the level 5 there is the geometry of containment profile. The output is somewhat uneven and blurred. Where am I wrong? Any suggestion or tip is welcome. Thanks a lot in advance. UNDERCUT-IMAGE.bmp SF-TOOLPATH-5X.MCX-6
  10. Okay, lets talk only about toolpath: how can I use point to point toolpath to perform an initial straight path followed by a final arc-shaped trajectory? Thanks a lot for reply
  11. Hi everyone, I need to understand what follows: Is it possible to implement and simulate a broaching operation by Mastercam in a CNC milling center? Case of application: broaching off corner radii of a slot by a CNC broacher. Toolpath to be implemented: plunge in of broacher to a certain Z depth so as to cover the entire Z depth of corner radius. lead out with an arc-shaped trajectory at final depth and return to start position. Is there anyone who can help me in understanding this topics? Is there any tutorial? Thanks a lot for help.
  12. So, if I have understood well, I need to simulate point to point the path of aggregate head with the aid of a CAD before implementing the toolpath in Mastercam. Am I right? Is it Mastercam so really poor when it comes to simulate in the scenario of workpiece, fixture and machining center? Is there anyone who has implemented the simulation in the Machine Sim module of Mastercam?
  13. Thanks a lot tor the tips. What about simulating aggregate head toolpath in the scenario of workpiece, fixture and cnc milling center kinematics to analyze possible clashes?
