  1. Hey Randy, I have included a file here showing how you would use your custom tool geometry to define a lathe tool. The clearances is the most important thing to watch when making a tool. So just make sure when you click draw tool the circles are in the right place. Hope this helps, SXZCR-162.MCX-7
  2. As far as the shell error I have not found a solution but as for the "External component has thrown an exception" I used this method on a windows 7 system. Go to the Control Panel => Region and Language =>Click on "Additional settings" button on the Formats tab =>Go to the Time & Date tab and click on the "Reset" button & click OK.
  3. I have found in X7 that you have to go into the control definition and under tool set the "tool offset registers" to "add to tool" and make both the length and diameter 0. as for the sequential tool numbers just go into your machine group properties and under tools turn on the assign tool numbers sequentially.
  4. Try hitting escape a couple times to exit whatever it is in. It's possible that a screen has gone small and at the bottom or side.
  5. Hey Aaron, all the errors that Pete got are the ones I saw. It didn't matter weather the tool was created in MC or in the tool manager, also didn't matter if I tried a different type of tool. When closed in the task manager it would revert back to the old style of tool creation. I saw this on 2 peoples computers and both of those computers had norton antivirus. We disabled it and it still crashed and in one case we uninstalled it but not sure if the norton blocks things really deep.
  6. The tool manager crashes everytime we try to make a new tool, but if we end the tool manager in the task manger it will continue with the tool creation. It comes up with the toolmanager.shell error as well. Has anyone gotten anywhere with this?
