  1. When my machine is at a-90. my table is facing y-.
  2. ok great thanks I am starting another similar part with bolt circles at each end of a shaft. im going to line the centerline up with the x axis and go from there.
  3. So I'm a little unclear. id like to get my x y z zero with my table at a-90. In mastercam I think I need to start with my part as if I were at a 0.0. I'm look for the rt way to do this.
  4. I think I'm messing around to much. Just getting into the 5axis world. I have cylinder I need to put a bolt circle at each end. I have it oriented on my table parallel to Y axis. I played around with call oo88 and was able to park a at -90. pick up my dia.. and give me the offset for the center of the cylinder at a0. I'm thinking I cant preload my machine offset to a-90. or I'm doing it incorrectly. I keep getting exceed axis alarm at mastercam. sample1.ZIP
  5. Could i use call oo88 to transfer my off set from A-90 to A 0. picking up this boss? I was dealing with a rotation alarm at mastercam making think i needed my part oriented at A zero
  6. Great thanks guys. I guess I was try do build without creating a plane and let the 5 axis toolpath take care of it. Live to learn another day
  7. I have this block that needs 2_ 45's put on the underside. When I post I'm trying to make it park A and C and mill with X. Instead I get XZ or C and X moves. Could some one take a look when you get a second. It works but.. would like to keep it simple. 61345-160R1.mcam
  8. Hay guys I'm laughing , I was reading past content I had created and found advice pertaining to all wireframe getting copied to new level. BINGO.. From there a simple 2d fillet. Sometimes overthinking can be an enemy (for myself any who)
  9. Hello everyone hope all is well, I'm not sure what to do with the section of the model that doesn't have curves for fillets and faces. I'm on a 5 axis Mu5000v ( big time rookie...its cool though ) I think I want to get the 2 faces with a parallel toolpath id like to run normal to both surfaces and walk up rad on second face. Thanks for your time in advance 14713.emcam
  10. Love it thanks. These characters are just a part number basically showing where they want the graving. I'm going to look into the simplified font sounds like something id like to use.
  11. Good morning, I'm am familiarizing myself with cleaning up my model. Home > analyze> check model definitely have problems but all lye within my engraving and u can see very clearly that lines don't meet up. Thinking I can remove the engraving to fix. Help said attempt to heal solid when opening option. model pre> simplify solid> optimize show issues with engraving also. I can keep choosing this option and I get different numbers of errors. Do I need to go in and fix these issues and then run this feature again till I get zero or should I approach in a different fashion? Thanks for everyone's help this forum has proven to be a very valuable tool for my toolbox I wish I used more frequently years ago.
  12. Excellent. Thanks so much. A whole pile of usefull information. Definitely going to apply these fresh tactics.
  13. Hello everyone hope all is well. I am having a hard time getting what i am looking for. When grab my solid for a silh. boun. I'm not getting an exact replica of my boundary. I'm getting broken arcs with different rads by a couple of thou. Its not that big of a deal in this application but i mill sprockets also where the rad on the teeth are very critical. Shutter.ZIP
  14. My cut pattern looks ok. As soon as I turn on collision control its all goes south. when I run verify without collision control I don't get any collisions. i, also trying to get it to stop just before the step at the top. Thanks ahead of time and hope to return favor some how some way. 10007691.mcam
  15. Chees n rice I must be blind thanks a bunch
  16. Can anyone help me out. Trying to rough with a curve toolpath or shall i say learn 5 axis programing. I don't like the entry and cant get it to do anything better then this. 10007691.mcam Incorrect file. Missing my 4 depth cuts at .05
  17. I was acually impressed wit rigidity. This big block when mounted was very ridged. In vertical position with indicator on the part i only saw .002 when pushing and pullin on it. I ran a 2 inch 4 flute facemill at .2 depth of cut .005 per tooth at 10000 rmps (200 ipm)and it loved it. My plan was to leave stock rails on left and right side with tabs that get cut off. But having to do the work on the front end first while rigid and working bk was a challenge for me.
  18. Well after almost a full week of learning and trying new things, the money makers want parts faster. I'm now going to run in 2 vertical machines op1 an 2 style 2 parts each. Convex side 1st with 4 work holes (1/4-20s) in the corners and .125 pin holes at the top of arc to locate on op 2. Thinking ill dish out an extra peace of stock so op 1 will sit rt in and off to the races (hopefully). I'm going to apply the toolpaths we discussed so id like to thank everyone for the pointer and hope to here from you in the future. Either way I had a lot of fun trying to make the five axis go. Ill get better over time ive got 25 years left so that should be plenty of time
  19. This morning I roughed out the fines on the concave side of my part that I posted. Didn't really car for it, but it made it. I used a dynamic Opti rest rough off my stock model. I used a 3/16 .02 bull endmill. The dynamic motion ate me alive. I would like to travel down thru there with 100 engagement depth of cut style. Any recommendation on toolpaths or different ways to use the one I am.
  20. That just all soun That just all sounds insane. I imagine over time and constant improvement it is the destination. I've been machining and playing with mills for 15 years , mainly vertical 2d applications. The last 3 to 4 have been pushing into 3d toolpaths. Just this past march boss man purchased an Okuma Mu5000v, being the only mill guy in the shop she's all mine.
  21. JUST LEARNED THAT PLANES NEED TO BE TOP AND TOP. THINKING THATS A T.C.P.C THANG.
  22. SEEMS TO BE ANYTIME I ADD MORE THAN ONE PATTEREN SLICE SHE DIVES INTO THE FLOOR. I CHAINED THE TILT LINES AND EVERYTHING LOOKS GREAT. THANKS FOR THE FILES THAT WORKED GREAT LOVE THAT TEMPLET TO RUN THRU.
