  1. THANK YOU! I was beginning to think it wasn't there anymore!
  2. Amidst all the odd changes and Mastercam's idea to take simplicity away in 2017...How on gods green earth do you change levels?! I can't figure out how to move geometry to another level; the ease of being able to "right click" in the levels box for the entire X series and even back into the V series and having the change level box pop up was beyond convenient. Does it still exist?
  3. Thank you sir! I was just right clicking on the plane i wanted to rotate assuming it was just going to make a copy and ask me what I wanted the view to be named like in past versions...definitely some different changes in this version.
  4. What do I need to do to be able to not have that option grayed out so I can rotate the plane? This is a little different from how I've utilized it before this version.
  5. I've used rotate planes for years and all of a sudden, either it functions under a totally different command name, or I just can't find it. It used to be as easy as planes, rotate planes, rotate the amount needed, and you would name the plane and wouldn't you know there would be a new named planed in my plane selection under named views...Hopefully someone uses that function as much as I do and can help me out...not a fan of the new level manager...AT ALL Luke
  6. I can honestly say no one else has access to it other than IT remotely being able to access my PC. I have an external hard drive and server and server copies of Mach. Defs and posts that we use on our machines that I know work. The last save date was in approx. 2012. It's just odd, I've made hundreds of these same style helical parts, and just one day two of the most random settings are changed...kind of scary
  7. I've used the same Machine Definition in MasterCam for our Haas VMC for years, I've went through a couple computers without a hitch. And yesterday I made two separate programs and the operator told me it was the wrong hand of direction...Well it was true, I made it left handed, the rotary turned it the opposite. It somehow managed to switch the CCW/CW setting for the rotary as well as the switching from Unit/min to Degree/min...I'm the only person who programs here and I of course didn't change this, and it's not like its one button click in an easy menu that changes this, it's a few...Wondering how something like this could even happen?
  8. That is the part itself. The tapered area of the part is where the teeth will be burned...It is an involute tooth profile as well to make it even slightly more exciting, so I'll have to use the U and V to achieve this.
  9. I'm at a dead stop, maybe just for the fact that a leap year landed on a Monday I'm looking to burn a round work piece with teeth 360 around the part. I know they will not purchase me a rotary, so that's out of the question. As an added bonus of confusion they also REFUSE to let me design a fixture that will stop halfway and just manually index to a pin so they can index the part 180 and restart the program...They want this thing burned 360 one run, no moving of the part without a rotary; any Ideas are better than what I have going on in my head on this fine Monday....Fire away!
  10. I use Nikken Collets after a lot of testing with problems we've had with other manufacturers, and Nikken has outperformed all others that we've used; I use Lyndex pull studs, I've never used Techniks so I cannot attest to there quality, but Lyndex has worked nicely for me I've never had problems.
  11. To define "swivel" it needs to be adjustable to 45 degrees in the left to right movement and the same for the up and down movement; and as far as accuracy I'm looking to be within 5-10 seconds. Also this is for a Wire machine. It sounds absolutely ridiculous that someone would sell this standard but I found someone that did, but at the time my company shrugged an idea they were looking at going forward with so I disregarded the holder at the time. And for the most part this type of work holder would reside in the machine. What I had seen previously was a clamp that held on the backside of a part so it was extruding the part into the EDM work table so the wire could get at it. It looked like it had two adjustable hex heads that would move it left to right and another one up and down.
  12. Yeah, I've looked at multiple companies, Hirschman and 3R included. I seem to be coming up empty handed every time.
  13. I'm looking for an EDM work holder that swivels left to right and up and down, with the compounding angles being very accurate. I seen what I needed in a catalog a while back, of course didn't think to book mark the page then, a few months have passed and I deeply regret that now; any link to something that is similar would be incredible, I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
  14. I.T. has finally decided to give me a new computer, so in the mean time I figured it would be a great idea to update from X5 to X8...I would download X9 online, but you pretty much have to be the IT leader in this company with every admin privilege known to man to do such a task; Long story short our reseller sent us an X8 install a while back and it's easier for me to go the disc install route, I'll update to X9 or 10 when we get a hard install disc. Question I have is, do I need to update my post from X5 to X8...any significant changes, or can I use the same post from X5 when I update?
  15. We have 4 Okuma MB-56VA's...We wouldn't trade these machines for the best Mazak out there. Reliable, Incredible tech support, and the OSP control is beyond user friendly.
