  1. The short answer is no. The HLE times out 18 months after the release of that version of the HLE. you can call your local reseller for the X7 HLE. This one will time out on 12/1/14 due to the release date of X7 last June. That is the standard time limits of the HLE's being released now.
  2. If you have SW on the same system as MC, you can save as a .slddrw file and then open the file in MC and choose the file type to open. As long as SW is on the same system, MC can retreive the data. If You bring the file to another system that doesn't have SW on it, you will get a blank screen. This came up in Tech Support recently where i could open the drw file but the customer could not because SW was not on his system. The file was a blueprint drawing that they were using the 2d lines for drive geometry.
  3. Thats why i am a Newbie. Thanks for the advice. I am in Tech Support BTW
  4. There is a video that was done on how to build a machine for Mach Sim but it wasnt an official video so it couldnt be released i will see if i can locate it on the web. You can also use Mach Sim with any machine just by choosing the 5AxHeadHead and that does not load a machine, just the tool, holder and workpeice and fixtures. if it is a 3-axis file, the head is locked and it will only move the live axis'.
  5. Welcome to the Mastercam forum!
  6. The Config folder located in your My Mcam folder. You can rename it so you can change the name back when done testing. Mastercam will rebuild the folder with default settings.
  7. Be careful no to overwrite these files because the Machine Simulator depends on these to be the exact name and placement relative to World CS in order to build the machine in the simulator. All these files are STL files also so you cannot overwrite them as MCX files.
  8. Sorry that the registry clean didnt work. Let us know if your reseller cannot help. support(at)mastercam(dot)com
  9. Go to your Start menu and in the Search bar type in "regedit" and that will get you into the registry.
  10. You may have things crossed up so much that a fresh install will be needed. Uninstall X6 and then go into the registry and there in the LOCAL and USER are the CNC Software folders. delete those folders and do the fresh install. Or, search out the X3 and X4 folders and delete those.
  11. be sure that there is no folders with X3 or X4 names on it. rename you Config folder and restart X6 after deleting the following: Delete the following registry entries: a. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam X3 (and X4) b. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam X3 (and X4)

    X4MU2

X4 was the first release that was tested and supported for Windows 7. X6 was not tested and or supported for W8. Our tested and supported release for W8 is X7. However, it is not to say it is not compatible. I have had a few instances of users with X2 on W7 so you can give it a try. You are right at the cutoff for X4 working and tested with W7.
  13. I did see a post about program numbers but it does not mention anything about letters. http://www.emastercam.com/board/index.php?showtopic=69787
