  1. That was a very good feature. I miss it a lot. Especially in lathe.
  2. Please try different plane combinations. I notice the video posted on this thread is using always TOP plane as WCS. Top plane is usually stable. So far so good for me with this new update. Thanks.
  3. New update as we speak. Strange coincidence.
  4. That explains it No more comments.
  5. same version here 17.0.17257.0. no new updates when I check.
  6. That is for top plane only, a WCS can be used as a top plane only. On a horizontal boring mill you can't use WCS as a tool/construction plane. The file uploaded is a perfect example for my problem too. Thank you for trying to help. This will be addressed to QC.
  7. Thank you for taking the time to explain this, though I don't understand your offended tone. I believe is reasonable to doubt that a single part needs to be moved 42 times to be completed, it would have been enough to state that this was a file with a lot of components. Majority of people we try to hire here never use WCS or very little, so I was trying to make sure we talk about WCS and not tool/ construction planes. "Attacking others and calling others in to doubt" Again, I was trying to make sure I understand how you work, no intention of attack. Having a problem that others don't have doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist. We all use the software in different ways. Proof is here that some people have the same problem. I think is offensive when you have a PROBLEM and somebody doesn't even take the time to read your post carefully and calls it right away a "problem". Just by saying "Look it doesn't happen here", which is almost like "see you don't know what you doing" doesn't resolve the issue. I downloaded this file and tried a few times was ok. After a few more trials it happened again. And this is a small file. My files are much larger and this is still a problem. Have a good day
  8. This same problem I have every day, even with less than 42 planes used as WCS. The problem is when some 3d operations take a long time to regenerate.
  9. Regarding 42 planes. Are these planes WCS planes or you count construction/tool planes too? The way we work here, one WCS is one operation on the machine. It is hard to believe a part needs to be moved 42 times to be completed. Or I am missing something here. Thank you.
  10. Thank you for this last reply. This explains everything.
  11. Just wondering are you using WCS other than top plane in that 150 mb file?.
  12. This is not going to happen in a sample file with three operations. The reason I am posting this is to see if anybody else who does REAL WORK, usually with large files, have the same problem. We didn't have this problem in X7. Some of the guys here don't even want to use X8.
  13. "being more specific about your processes would help though." I don't understand what more specific. I repeat: 1. Select a few operations to edit the planes, I am not selecting all of them in a machine group. 2. Change WCS and construction & tool plane thru edit common parameters. 3. All operations in that specific machine group become dirty. Not only the edited ones, which I expect to become dirty. This either happens to you or not, I can't be more specific.
  14. Any type of machine, vertical or horizontal, any type of toolpath, 2d, 3d. This happens to everybody in our place. We are using WCS and planes extensively. If you only work in the TOP WCS you probably don't have this problem.
  15. If you read carefully my post says that the entire machine group becomes dirty, not only the selected operations. That is the problem. Thank you for your reply.
