  1. I am in the proccess of updating the active report by adding a barcode for the tool manufacture part number to pull from inventory. The barcode is not working properly. For one tool it adds a "E" at the end. For another tool it adds a /. at the end. And the last tool it's correct. Does anyone have experience with the barcode function that can give guidance. Thanks
  2. I recently went to a seminar for using this feature. I am still learning more about it and need to call the local Mastercam dealer to ask why the feed is so diffferent with Iscar factor selected and RTC selected also. So far I have been getting prettty good success.
  3. Hello, I am trying to drill a .0937 hole in 17-4 in a high speed machining mill. I don't have flood coolent, only mist. I am going through drills like crazy. Cobalt, carbide. it doesn't matter. Cobalt I was running at 20 SFM and the carbide I tried 80 SFM and 40 SFM. Does anyone have any recomendations for speeds or cutter brands? Thanks
  4. This was a useful link for me, thanks guys
  5. I have installed solidworks 2010 as a stand alone(I still have 2009 installed)and get this error message. I have tried quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "In Windows, click Start, then Run and enter "cmd" as the command. This will start a 'DOS' command window. Now type these commands... cd McamXcommonsworksdata [ENTER] You should be left at this command prompt (of course your drive:mcamx path may be different) -> C:McamXcommonsworksdata> Now enter this command to Register the DLL -> regsvr32 swdocumentmgr.dll [ENTER] " and still get the error message. I did try to re-install Mastercam direct for Solidworks and still got the message. Does anyone have new advise for this? thanks now using MX4 MU1
  6. There is a restore default button you can click on the upper left. give that a try
  7. Thanks for the input. As far as solidworks goes I am a beginner at it. mostly learning by On the job training.
  8. I am looking for some guidance. I uploaded a file on the FTP site trode suggestions lvl 1&2 are the original imported file from the customer lvl 10 and 11 are the trode that I created 1st As you can see on the trode I created surfaces from the solid and extended them for safety clearence in the cavity. then I created the 1/2 barrel just as a stopping point for the toolpath. Question: is there a effective way to create the trode as 1 solid entity instead of having floating surfaces over the solid 1/2 barrel? I think this would help me have a smoother toolpath as I could then add fillets were the barrel and floating surfaces meet. 2nd. I am mostly a self taught Mastercam user and at times still unsure of what toolpath to use. On this file I have 8 operations. ops 1-6 are what I was going to use and ops 7 and 8 are now the ones I am concidering to use instead of ops 4-6. Do you guys have any thoughts on this? Thanks!! 9. I program for a couple Haas and had this problum also, it was a frustrating one to figure out. When the Haas rapids it moves both X and Y axis as fast as it can, when 1 axis gets to it's position then the other axis finishes were it is going. The HS toolpaths assume that it rapids in a direct line, both axis reaching the endpoint at the same time. That is why outputting feed move is the best option. If you output a G01 then it forces a linear move. The only thing I don't like is when you output a feed move then the rapid override is non functioning on that operation.
  10. I didn't get a chance to look at your file but what about turning off the infinate look ahead? Good Luck
  11. Although I do not have one of these machines I googled mori m45 m codes and got what you see below. HTH > I just recently purchased a Mori SL-25M w/ Fanuc CNC. > I got shorted the machine-specific operation manuals. > > Does anyone have one of these exact models? > If yes, what are the M-codes for the C axis on/off? > > I could bumble around with it, but a quick bit of info from > someone that actually KNOWS what they are would > save a bunch of time. > > > > Steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > http://www.CNCTrader.com > > ================================= > On the ZL Series, M45 is C-axis connection & M46 is C-axis connection cancel.
  12. Michael, thanks for the link. I did make sure this is activated. I do normally use solids for my toolpaths. Maybe that is the issue.I will convert to surfaces and see if the problem persists posted 06-21-2006 04:34 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To All, Have you checked the System Configuration to make sure the switch "Restore entire toolpath data in File Open" is active on the Files topic page? That was what happened to me when I first updated to MR1. I couldn't understand why a file I had just saved moments before would open with every op needing regeneration. Until I checked that switch and then it made sense to me. HTH -------------------- Pete "Stranger In A Strange Land" "I'm a Mog, half man, half dog. I'm my own best friend"
  13. I am not moving the geometry, rather changing from a TOP wcs to a created wcs (using view manager) for working on another area on the part.
  14. I have come across this problem a few times were I change my WCS and it makes my toolpaths "dirty" even though they don't use the WCS that I changed to.It appears that the toolpaths are trying to associate itself to it. After I re-gen it is fine but I don't know what the cause is. Thanks
