  1. I am working with a university and am setting up a new VMC, a SMTCL 850E. It has a tool magazine so the post must have the M6 on a seperate line and then call up the next tool # Anyone have someting like that? I am curently useing a generic Fanuc Post. Still running X5 Thanks for any help. Bill
  2. That does work and that is what we are doing for now, the issue is that it just adds one more variable that an employee can get wrong.
  3. I am not sure your meaning. A typical tool length offset for me would be -12.3456. My normal is to set the tools to the Z0 of the part so that my Z fixture offset is Zero.
  4. Thanks for the idea but I don't see how that one applies. That one is referencing the G code while I need to have it address the Machine coordinate values instead of the Relative coordinate values when setting the tool length.
  5. I just got in a new machine that has a Fanuc Oi controller. When you go to set a tool, it grabs the relative value instead of the machine coordinate value. Does anyone know which parameter needs to be changed so that I can set tools the old fashion way? Any help would be great. Bill
