  1. hey guys Im having this same problem I tried posting with notepad and it posted so I know that mastercam is posting so this tells me there is a problem with code meter ? can some one help
  2. im shocked at the response to this thread , and thanks to you guys i was able to complete the job and the customer ordered more !!!!!!! i am still wondering what are the main factors that need to be changed from part to part for example say the par has longer strakes ( ribs )?? @ajmer can you help me understand each box on each tab in advanced rotary
  3. @cam-eleon that is a good point and that way the tool only has to make 1 pass to where the advance rotary has to make alot at small depths can you post the mc file
  4. @ajmer yes that is perfect ... thanks for that man you have made my day
  5. I dont have toolpaths that is what I am trying to do . I need to try and use the rotary advanced function
  6. along with the hamfer I also need to square up the back wall and cut radii in the corners . The chamfers are not the only thing i am trying to get done
  7. Hello to all , I need some help from you guys I have been trying to program this part on the 4th axis ( rotary ) using the new rotary advanced function. I have been able to come up with a basic tool path using axis sub. but I really need the rotary advanced to be bale to cut chamfers on the top edge on the ribs and other smaller details that the axis sub can not do . I have attached a drawing from mastercam 2018 i could really use some help . I have never used the function so I have no idea what each box is asking for I have tried to play around with it but I havent been able to get it to do what I want it to do . I need to machine the spaces in between the sprial ribs . Any help /pointers are greatly appreciated DWG 00005074_OGS_FINAL SPRIAL.mcam
  8. I'm running mc2018 and I have never used rotary advanced is there anyone out there that can walk me thru the settings step by step ....yes I know it sounds like alot but like I said I have never used it before and I am used to using axis substitution and could really use the rotary advanced....Is there anyone out there up for the challenge
  9. Im using Mastercam x4 and I have had this issue when using a canned threading cycle every thing looks good and when I get the program to the machine it always cuts the thread too big so I have to always put a -.08 in my offset and it cuts it perfect . The only thing I can think of is there is a 1/4" deep counterbore before the thread starts and when I program it I thread it like there is no c'bore , I have done it both ways one with the counterbore and one with out and they both end up having a -.08 in the offset has anyone else had this problem?

  11. can you explain a little more details never used rolldie
