  1. Thanks, gcode. I learned something new today. I can see how this would be great for things with lots of stuff going on.
  2. Thanks all. I think that's what it is. Never used that before. If I kept tearing my hair out I wouldn't have much left. Again, big Thank You to all.
  3. If I click on select all operations or the select dirty operations in the toolpath tree it causes geometry that is not with toolpaths to disappear. I figured out if you go to hide/unhide it will reappear, but doing a select all operations makes it disappear again. Can't figure out what I did to get this to happen. Does it on all drawings, new or old stuff, or even someone else's drawing. So I am guessing something got clicked on today????? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
  4. Thanks Ocean, I know how to find the length, but how do I put it on a drawing as a dimension short of manually typing up some kind of note?
  5. Say you were dimensioning a rolled or curved piece and someone wanted to know the length in the flat, or dimensioning a thin skin on a frame and need to know the length in the flat. I'm pretty sure you can do this in ACAD and I though this was possible in a previous version in MCAM. I could analyze the arc and type something in as a note but seems cumbersome.
  6. How do you dimension an arc length? Scratching head...….. Thanks
  7. If I uncheck the color and level boxes in EA manager, sure, notes default back to the current system color and level. The problem is creating a note puts it where I want it (level 24) and makes it the color I want (grey) but it CHANGES the Current system color and level from Color green and level 1 and leaves it to now level 24 and color grey. It should not change the color and level for lines, arcs, splines, etc to the level and color where notes are supposed to go. No other version did this. Edit- The other items I have setup in EA Manager don't mess with the system color or level . E.G. I have dimensions set to color grey and level 23 and it puts them there and it leaves the current level and color at green level 1. Same with other items in there. Only notes changes the current system and level and leaves it there after creating a note. Gotta be a bug.
  8. Notes/Labels is checked, set to level 24 and set to color grey 7. My default system color is supposed to stay green, level 1 The problem is that if I'm working in green level 1, stop and write a note it puts the note on level 24 in grey color (that's OK) but it then automatically switches my system color and level to grey and level 24. Then I have to right click and switch the color back to green and the level back to 1.
  9. Example- System color is green and level is on #1. I create-note, then the system color changes automatically stays on the color and level that I have set in Entity attributes manager for notes,( in this case color grey and level 24). Anyone else have this problem? It didn't do this in MC 2019 or 2020. The guy sitting next to me has same problem so I think its not just something on my box.
  10. My coworker who has identical computer and settings (we checked) when he goes to print, print preview shows the linework doubled up. The geometry shows doubled and shifted up in the Y axis but and lettering does not. The paper output looks fine. Same messed up preview in both plotter and desktop printers. Anyone else experience this or have any ideas how to fix.
  11. Yes, always open with your default product ( In my case Mill ) It was always like this as long as I remember. As another person said many people are probably always running one product or machine and not starting as a design product unless that's all they are paying for. Also, what happened to Alt-U undo? Edit- I started digging around,it is now Cntrl-Z?? Where did that come from? Changed it back to Alt-U
  12. Yes, more clicking around. I don't get this new stuff, I haven't found anything in this yet were it makes me say" wow, cool, this is something I can use, or this saves a lot of time or any time.." It seams like I have to click through more stuff to get were I want, before I had the icons I wanted on the screen and didn't have to click from tab to tab...
  13. Yes, just one extra step that wasn't there before. Actually 3 mouse clicks.
  14. Just started using M2017. I'm doing for instance "save some" then opening that file, it opens as a Design file and switches MC to Design instead of Mill. As a workaround if I do a File - Save As, give it a different name, it will open as a Mill file then I wipe out what I don't want, PITA I have start product set to Mill. Never had this problem in any other previous versions. Can I switch products with a drawing open so that I can turn the design file to Mill? Never had to do it like this before???? Thanks for reading this. Edit- Just realized I can go Machine - Mill - Default and turn it to a Mill file but is there any way to just open as a Mill right away like it used to in previous versions?
  15. Using X8 and sometimes when I want to place a note with Create Note a box pops up that says "Memory Table Item Not Found" and a number. I click X to close or enter or OK and can not get rid of the box it keeps popping up and I have to use Task Manager to kill the program and then lose the drawing. Anyone else have this problem with X8? Solution? Thanks
