  1. Good day! I am going to be using a Micro 100 threading bar (ITL-050200X) which has a .022" neck, to do some threading in 4140 HTSR. Has anyone used a bar this small on an LB? I'm wondering if there's a cutting mode that works well for a bar this small? Thanks
  2. Does anyone know why our Okuma LB3000 EX II MYW, started giving alarm 1770, Door interlock 3? Right before that happened, I had locked the SS C-axis (M110) and after I was done, I unlocked it (M109). Then my jogging with the doors open, no longer worked. I tried shutting down, but obviously that didn't work. Any input would be appreciated.
  3. You're right, when using IGF, the machine is down. Apparently they have a PC version of IGF but I believe it was pricey. A permanent source file would definitely be nice since we're running both Okuma and Mazak Lathes. Right now I use Mastercam Mill to generate some code for more difficult parts and then I just insert it into my IGF program. It would be better to have the lathe module and a post for it. The easy parts could still be done with IGF. Good points to consider, especially the blending.
  4. We already have 5 seats of level 3 mill, so that part wouldn't be a problem, I was just curious to see if anyone knew if it had a significant advantage over using conversational.
  5. Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me if it's worth getting Mastercam lathe for an Okuma LB3000 EXII MYW over using IGF? Thanks.
  6. I can't keep up with all the responses guys, one at a time please, haha!
  7. I'm wondering if anyone out there has a program for pushing to a stop on an Okuma LB3000 EXII using a LNS QLS 80 S2?
  8. Thanks a lot for the pdf! I just saw it now and it's extremely informative. I sure wish our local AE had information like that! Much appreciated!
  9. Great advice Doug, thanks! I didn't know that Mid-Auto Manual would work for that. That will be helpful.
  10. I would like that but their applications guy is the only one in the area and he hasn't even used a sub spindle Okuma before.
  11. Exactly. It's a new machine and I want to set it up so that it's fairly easy to run. The "master tool" seems weird. Yes, it has a tool eye. On the subspindle side, I can't use the tool eye because of the length of the tools.
  12. The guy the dealer sent out said that you have to create a master tool. Basically, he wants us to take our finish turning tool and calibrate it so that the z will be zero when touched off. All tools touched off after that will reference off of that tool.
  13. Good morning, I'm not a fan of having to create a "Master Tool" for the LB 3000 EXII MWY. Maybe it's because I've never seen anyone explain it well. Even our trainer was stumbling through it. Does anyone have a detailed, step by step list on how to create one properly? Thanks.
  14. I had that switch on before I posted my question but it wouldn't allow me to go past the stroke limits. I was thinking that maybe it only lets you come back from a crash etc. when it's traveled past the limits?
  15. Does anyone know where the parameter is for overriding the y axis limit switch so that we can have access to the additional bolts that hold on the cover that is between the y axis box ways?
  16. Okay. That's what I'm working on right now. Thanks Doug.
  17. My groove is off by 1/2 the tool width. The Id is perfect and the Od of the groove is big.
  18. Hi, when doing a face groove using IGF, it works well in graphics, including the x and z positions. Somehow, when it goes to the actual cutting on the subspindle, it makes the groove OD too big. The ID is perfect. Does anyone have any tricks to this besides entering the improper numbers?
  19. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can let me know how they use Sandvik's Y axis parting blade on their Okuma lathe? It looks like IGF doesn't support it. My guess is that you have to program it in g-code. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  20. Hey Chris, In-House Solutions came to our shop and also thought it was our system. It ended up that our set-up was better than what they had. With the settings set to where we need them, their results were no different than ours. They admitted that there was a problem with Verify and that's where it ends. I'm not sure if CNC will ever fix it properly.
  21. Here is the file again (see attached file at the bottom) , in case it was missed. We know about the issue of tools not converting correctly and we are changing them every time we bring an X6 program into 2017. This file has the tools modified so that they will work in 2017. If you do try it, I would be curious to see what your time differences are. On our system, for this part, X6 verify takes 13 seconds (12 seconds to play and 1 second to compare). In 2017 with the precision factor set to 1, verify takes 6 minutes 42 seconds (4 minutes 45 seconds to play and 1 minute 57 seconds to compare). CX032600.MCX-6
