  1. New machine 2019 (no maintenance) Nothing running in background = 3:32 Outlook, 4-5 firfox tabs, youtube all in background = 3:33 Ryzen 5800X 64G Ram XPG GAMMIX S70 Asus Tuf 3070
  2. Memex I belive has a card for 640 that outputs mtconnect protocol, but if I remeber correctly it is astronomical priced. Matrix controls have mtconnect natively. IMO, realtime data accusation is likely a pipe dream in most shops. There are some good software solutions, Cimco MDC, Merlin(from memex) and a few others. The challenge is every control manufacturer decided to make there own protocol so capturing data is difficult, and what you can capture is different from each protocol/control/hardware.
  3. Something handy for Mobile users I'm onsite alot, but not always connected to my server (via VPN). I was having issues with slow MCX opens, I realized my Recent files list was heavily populated with server locations and windows tries to populate the list until it times out and continues on with the open MCX process. Since there is no setting in MCX to set max number of file history (I couldn't find one) I found the registry entry and modified it. Note this will remove history for open and save as Went from this: (2017 for reference) to this:
  4. 100% G95 works on Haas mills, but ive found an issue on some software versions where certian rounded pitch past 4 places machine freezes, but same pitch calculated in G94 works fine. Non issue in my mill but ive run into the issue in other software versions.
  5. Yasda is sub micron tolerance all day. Probably the best Japanese machine Available IMO. I got to spend a few days with the Japanese apps guys from Yasda on the micro center at Methods a few years ago, was truly impressed with the machines.
  6. Schunk has options to achieve what your after
  7. Where is this available? Prototek has nothing on there site.
  8. FYI, Its in the Operators manual if your looking for a full list.
  9. Why not use 2d oscillate dropdown in contour which is specifically for this application?
  10. Checknout Spiralock threads, its a threadform that locks on itself once enguaged. Used in automotive a bunch, aswell as other uses. Can get taps, threadmills with the thread profile.
  11. Solved my own issue with a little more digging on official forums. https://kb.mastercam.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50124.aspx well at least its in two places on the interwebs now
  12. So I have this customer who is on X7. I usually will program customers parts in whatever version they own for ease of edits or future re-run. As much as I encourage shops to upgrade some just don't have the budget. I've tried numerous times to install X7 on windows 10 x64 laptop, I did a fresh download form Mastercam.com to make sure my install files were good. I have X2, X8, X9, 2017, 2019 installed currently all work with no issues. I found this thread: https://www.emastercam.com/forums/topic/78180-had-a-seemingly-unfixable-install-problem-w-32-bit-x7-hle-2-weeks-of-debugging-later-heres-how-to-fix-it/ Tried this "fix" to no avail. Short of fresh windows install (which i'm likely due for but don't have the time) does anyone have any other ideas? TIA Ray
  13. Fillet Chain R=0.0001, While technically not sharp will undo the larger rads
  14. Set the Roughing Angle +/-180 Degrees to what it currently is (Found on Pocket Parameters Tab).
  15. No problem, likely my rushed wording. Yes I've tried that, was a suggestion I recieved from a friend who is familiar with the Hedenheian.
  16. Thanks for the advice Ron, I will keepnitnin mind but I'm stuck with the machine unoperational hoping someone can point me in the right direction to recover the machine .
  17. I have an issue with a Heidenhain control and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Control is Cerca 2004 TNC426/430 Nutating Head Machine, I'm going though some post issues with the customer, and 5 axis programming support. We have sorted out that the control does not do TCP (M128) in Cycle 19, only Spatial plane, I was doing some test code on the control too check formatting for the post update. Issue is Every time I call a Cycle 19, or Plane Reset STAY, I'm getting an "Angle Cannot Be Calculated" error, I'm pretty much getting this error all the time. Even tempting a tool change gives this error. Started when I did a Plane Reset Stay before an M128. What I feel is happening based on the behavior of the machine is somehow the Kinematics is twisted compared to head or something, I've Restated the machine with the head vertical, and all the numbers display 0's (B,C). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Check your Cimco shortcut, your likely using Cimco basic attached to Mastercam Sim. If opening .nc file directly check windows default association (prolly looking at MCX cimco) If launching direct from Mastercam check your Start tab and make sure "CIMCOedit" is selected not "CIMCO"
  19. Unless thigs have changed with how you can bundle mcx license. Curve5 is an addon that can run on a mill1 seat, its actually pretty powerful if you know what your doing but by no means a replacment for full Multi. Full Multi requires mill3, the largest portion of the price increase is the added full 3d package. If you buy curve 5 now there is no reduced upgrade price as curve5 is considered an addon, and full multi is a software upgrade.
  20. G53.5 is used to call WPC in eia, not 100% if it will work on M+ generation.
  21. Why does it have to be rs232? They make ethernet to serial adaptors but they are ment for connection to older machines technically it could be wired in but the machine would have no idea what to do with the signal. Not sure anyone makes a device backwards compatible. Ive hoooked up hundreds of machines and typically this restriction is an IT issue (they dont want the machine in the network) there are options uisng ethernet and ot being on the network.
  22. As a contract programmer I run my business from a dell precision 7710, Fantastic laptop and I've had zero issues with it. Handles everything I throw at it. That being said its close to 12lbs with the brick. Not so bad if im travelling with my own vehical and am only one shop ina day, but often im at multiple customers and when I fly its unruly to lug around, near impossible to use on a flight. Not that I fly often for work but its not exactly portable. I got to lay my hands on MSI new WS63 work series when I was at my local PC store yesterday, and man is it nice. Other than the less than ideal trackpad (minor issue as I pack a mouse) thin, light, beautiful speced with 8 gen i7, and P3200 gpu. My plan for next upgrade is a WS tower for home/shop. And eventually replace my Dell with a slimmer more travel friendly 15". I do the bulk of my contract stuff pre programmed and only make minor changes onsite.
  23. Anyone had success with Filezilla FTP server to Fanuc recently? I've done a bunch of machines over the years and its pretty simple peer to peer networking and a few settings on the server side. With the newer Filezilla server I cant for the life of me make anything connect. TLS settings i'm sure is the culprit as I cant seem to be able to configure Plain FTP anymore in Filezilla. TIA
  24. 99.9% sure Smart is Samsung Machine rebranded.
