I am currently working on a project making wooden globes on the 5 axis cnc. I am making a 5 inch diameter globe, and machining out a "pocket" for the countries. Right now i am only doing north and south america. I can't figure out the best multiaxis tool path to use. Right now i am using my 3d chain to do a "curve" toolpath, copying the tool path geometry and so forth in order to offset, and remachine that offset line. Any tips on pocketing out this 3d "pocket"?
