  1. Sent me the example file in X7 format and I will try to bend it using Map dll I am still with X7 but never mind First time i did it in ver9 If the part is simple it is an easy task If it not so it may take time but still possible I would say. Basically you need to transfer curves from straight surface to the bended one. Map dll transfers curves from one surface to another using u and v curves as pointers for curves transfer You can transfer geometry from cylinder to flatten surface or to sphere or even from sphere to flatten surface even when sphere can not be flatten without distortion. It is worth to try anyway Sorry for being aggressive Best regards
  2. Map dll c-hook does this job I used it lot of times for many parts like in bend unbend situations Instead of pointing on other programs first learn the tools you have in mastercam and in many cases solutions is under your nose BR
  3. Map C-Hook Use this C-Hook to map a surface curve from one surface to another. It creates the new curve by copying the u, v coordinates from the selected surface curve to the new surface curve, and connects it to a new parent surface. You can optionally choose to swap the U and V coordinates. The shape of the new surface curve is a function of the U,V coordinates of the selected surface curve and the shape of the new parent surface. Generally, this results in the surface curve "morphing" from the first surface to the second surface.
  4. You like this one ? Powered By Mastercam X2 Wintopo and Rastertovector c-hook Mastercam art parallel toolpath Ball mill 3 mm
  5. To thread a multi-lead thread on mustercam using regular thread mill run thread cycle multi times every time starting height changes according to distance between leads For two leads to similar jobs only differs with starting height BR
  6. I have run HSm on slow machines . I ended with using such principles Lower RPM ,Slower feed with bigger side -off milling For stainless I used to go up to 1/3 of diameter and slower feeds I even used High speed mills with hsm toolpathes More aggressive filtering you can filter up to 0.1-0.2 mm and even more if you have enough material for finish BR
  7. Creating single lines of geo at all depths, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ramp is the best but you can make three lines contour horiz line depth in and revers horiz Now chain 3 d contour select appropriate 3d chain mode depths and all and on the depth page select Keep tool down HTH
  8. This is most simple low cost mechanical presetter https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/56451172 And you even don't need this . You can preset using Johnson block or with block of steel Fast and easy . HTH
  9. Try to avoid entering inner corners without radius movement For such big tools as 5 '' adding 3 mm inner radius is good enough to lower spindle load at corners for 50 percent
  10. Long time ago we used to extend end mill 3 mm and glued it with the lock tight superglue It worked good For heavier duty tools we used silver soldering Once I used rough ball mill HSS 25 mm dia extended to the lenght of 350 mm ! I used to mill some tricky parts for planes and it worked. Very strong connection. HTH
  11. I got it to work better by using the top surface as drive, instead of check. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I make undercut milling on the daily basis. Never use check only drive surfaces. Saves me a lot of pain HTH
  12. Gcode , good old days! Yeah! No drill cycles too ! And the machine was nc ,not cnc ! You can over-travel one axis(X for example) get the alarm and axis stop yet second axis (suppose Y) will continue to move Lots of backlash and lots of fun And still we made good parts Machine - builder from city Kabul Once had built an advanced machine - tool . Now controller is wrecked , And the basement is cracked , And the spindle is powered by mule !
  13. and when I say incremental, each and every tool needs to start at part zero and 1 inch above, as the early programmers here did not know that work offsets existed?? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear fellow machinist there were times when that was exactly so . I used to run some very antic machine it had no home and no offsets Naturally it had no toolchange system run powered by apple][ WE USED THE SAME PRINCIPLE LIKE THIS : ProgrAM always incremental first point of program and last one are the same one -program home and z is 25 mm over the part -HA-ha !!! I had some other machine it had offsets but no home . One of the first LX systems HTH
  14. You can blank your level. The surfaces will reappear after regen Other geometry will stay blanked you can unblank it -> select by level I akways blank the geo for solid building Saves me from lot of headache HTH
