does m198 work?
it works on our 0 control feeler pallet machine.
we use under 500 MB cards they don't like the bigger cards
I got this from james
Set the machine into "MDI" Mode.
Press the OFFSET/SETTING button.
Change/Set the “I/O Channel” to “4”
Set "Parameter Write Enable" to "1"
Press the Cancel AND Reset buttons simultaneously. This will clear the alarm you get stating parameter write is enabled.
Press the "SYSTEM" button.
Press the numbers "138" on the key pad then "NO. SRCH" on the soft keys (below the CRT). You'll need to set bit 7 to a 1 (Bit order is as follows - 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 - so you'll want to change the furthermost bit to the left to a 1)
Press "3404" on the key pad then "NO. SRCH" on the soft keys. Arrow over to bit 2 (3rd bit from the right) and change that to a "1"
Press "6005" on the key pad then "NO. SRCH" on the soft keys. Set Bit 0 to a 1.
Press "6030" on the key pad then "NO. SRCH" on the soft keys. Change it to "198".
Press the OFFSET/SETTING button to get back to setting and set Parameter Write Enable to a "0". Press Reset.
Now, this will allow you to run directly off your memory card.
Your main program in your machine control will just need to look like the following;
%
O100(MAIN PROGRAM)
M198P1234
M30
%
Optionally, you can add a Q to the M198 Pxxxx line (M198P1234Q101) and it will jump to that line number within the Sub Program.
Your program on the memory card MUST be named Oxxxx (the exes being a 4 digit number that MUST correspond to the actual Sub Program Number in the sub program. (ex. O1234) with NO file extension.
Your program on the memory card must be as follows (making sure the M198 P call AND the O number AND the Sub Program Number match as I've shown)
%
O1234(YOUR PROGRAM NAME HERE)
(YOUR PROGRAM AS NORMAL)
N101
M99
%
You MUST have a memory card in the slot when “M198” is called or you will get an alarm.
NOTE:
You’ll need to have the following on hand as well;
• USB Reader/Writer for your PC so you can load programs to the Compact Flash Card.
• PCMCIA to Compact Flash Card Adapter so you can load programs from the Card to the machine.
• 1MB to 1GB (MAX) Compact Flash Card. The smaller the capacity, the more likely it will be compatible with your machine.Quote- 3

In fact, the GUI is setup so that it requires 2 presses of the cycle start button. The reason being is in case you do not at first place the tool over the button and 10MM above.
Initiate the cycle, press cycle start. You can't see it but there is an M00 active. Without pressing reset, go to HANDLE mode, move your tool in position, go back to MEM mode and press CYCLE START again. The process will proceed.
I will try it, thanks

We got a used vmc for free basically and they set it up. I got the auto touch off to work on the OTS but the manual touch just sits there. The GUI says it's executing but there is no movement.
Can it be activated with a g65 macro call or only from the GUI?

It says typical hardness it 86-88 Rockwell.
It says low CTE. Probably for something optical

I think there is a lot of maths involved and usually it's a paid option from a dealer or post maker

Most videos I see showcasing these fans use aluminum. How effective are these at clearing thicker steel chips?
The lang has a hole in the center so you can use the thru spindle coolant to get heavy stuff out and then the fan to blow the coolant away

Question is are they making you run everything for CAMPLETE on the cloud like Fusion?
Another thing is which of them allows you a floating network license that 100 programmers could use and not have to pay a license fee for all 100 programmers to use? 2 out of the 3 allow that and not charge per machine per user to use it? Check out the hidden costs of ownership also. Have a bad couple of months and don't pay the mother-ship on one of them your dead in the water. 2 of them you want to stay with your current version for 20 years you can and have good and bad months and stay in business and not have it destroyed.
That is as of today date. A year or 5 years from now they all might fall into the mother-ship controls your density mindset we can never know.
As far as I can tell it's still on the hard drive.

I just did a fresh install of CAMplete... Fusion360 was not installed automatically.
It didn't on mine either

It looks like you are streaming fusion. it doesn't install it on the hard disk like camplete. it needs to be setup for each user

Open the post and search5 for *ptap*

Isn't there a turret recovery or is that the same as the tool recovery. If that's the case the servo may have slipped and it needs to be rebomed
-
What does it post out as? That is technically just a label in the drop down. You can change it to what ever you want in the control def text.
In the pdrill post blocks you can see what it will actually post and change the value. It may say sg32 or "G32" . You may need to alter more of the cycle depending what the control wants.

It's probably welding to the drill causing it to enlarge parts of the hole.
I would think something uncoated would be best. I would Try cutting the spindle speed and increase the chip with a small peck. Maybe a parabolic drill

I see it on the lower left corner when regenerating tool paths sometimes

Correction... CAMplete does not support posting the probing paths from external CAM systems that are not Fusion360.
I heard a vicious rumor from a customer when you get CAMplete you also get Fusion360. This cutomer programs their probing paths in Fusion360 then program their toolpaths in Mastercam then they merge the projects in CAMplete and simulate/collision check. I can probably help you navigate that if you want to go down that path. I've got the technology .
I don't see a way to download Camplete without fusion now, even under the custom install tab

it may not like the % at the beginning

You might be able to change the holder back to standard And lock it so it won't regenerate.

Awesome, thanks for showing that. Great workaround!!
After your G43 H## line, it reads G65 P9510 Z2. Does that mean the probe is "protected" from tool change position down to 2.0? If so, I like that. Sorry I've only been using a probe for about a year and in-process probing a few months max, so I'm still an amateur. and it's been the only spindle probe in my shop so I've got no one to go to besides the internet lol. I've always kind of strayed away from macro programming/modifying posts/things of that nature because it was confusing and I'm at a tipping point in my career where I'm definitely having to give in to progress further now
Yes the z move is protected as well as any axis movement after until the zero return line. The initial xy rapid is not but can be easily changed to do so.

you are the man
I would be okay with something like that. Thank you leon, I may recommend that if the AE has no better idea.
This is the post I made about it

I modified a post to post out probing and use a manual entry text file. The block numbers are MB1, ECT so Camplete inserts the gcode into the program. So there is no hand editing. It supports 550 lines of code. I usually add more when I'm bored as it's quite laborious.

You can speed up drilling with with peck clearance I think it's around 5200 or 5110 on fanuc. It usually defaults to .5mm.
I've used the g5.1on drilling before. The only time it caused an issue is with the probe.
The danger lies in if you hit reset the program stops where it read ahead to. So if you page up you can potentially start in a spot where your not expecting.

our Camplete format uses g68.2 to get into position and then cancels it on g43.4 5 axis work.
They can work together 54.4 would compensate for a crooked casting or fixture and 68.2 will let you have a work offset other than the center of rotation.
I TRIed it on ours once but with a table table setup it couldn't get to a proper solution
on the work offset screen page over with the right arrow untill work error shows up. thats the 54.4 table
