  1. I don't think it has anything to do with the post it doesn't even try posting. I'm using MasterCAM for Solidworks.
  2. Is there a way to post with associativity checking off. If I try posting I get the following message: "posting is disabled while associativity checking off"
  3. I'm running SolidWorks 2020 along with MasterCam for SolidWorks 2020 and I'm having some issues with SolidWorks freezing when trying to load the Mastercam Add-in. It happens while "running command line commands ...". I see from previous post that going into the launcher utility in MasterCam and unchecking the hardware acceleration option might eliminate this problem. The only Issues I have is I can't find the launcher utility. How do I access this if I only have MasterCam for Solidworks installed?
  4. When trying to use the debugger for Mastercam for SolidWorks I get an error whenever I click run. I've attached the error that pops up. Any suggestions for how to fix this would be appreciated?
  5. I'm modifying the generic 4-axis mastercam post. Everything is working great, except when I post the rotational axis is is off by 90 degrees with the coordinate system I like using. Is there a way to change this? I know I can just change my coordinate system, however I was trying to avoid doing this. Thanks for the help.
  6. I have the limits set in the machine definition and post, is there another place I should set them? I've tried using a rotated work plane. I'm using MasterCam for Solidworks 2017 for the post I'm using the "Generic Fanuc 5X Mill" and configured it for my machine. How would I set a predetermined rotation amount? I've attached a simplified version of the part. TestPart.STEP
  7. I'm machining a disk with a 5deg taper along the outside edge out 5 axis. The machine doesn't allow for any negative y values since the spindle can only reach to the center of the table. When I do a swarf cut for this outside profile, the code always seems to want to rotate the part 90 degs and work off to the side. For example the code has the spindle at around X10 and Y0, where I want the spindle at around X0 and Y10. The taper of the disk does change so currently the y values goes slightly negative. Any ideas on how to make this happen. I've tried the following: Forcing the primary axis to start at 0 Making the home location X0 Y10
  8. Thanks guys the forced tool change idea worked, along with changing bias_null: 1in the post.
  9. Thanks for the quick response. Yeah, that's exactly what I did. I took my top plane then rotated it about the z-axis 180 degrees. I then used this for my Tool and Construction planes, and I left my WCS plane the as the original top plane. I'll play around with it more tomorrow. Does it have anything to do with the origin being in the center of my part?
  10. I can't seem to get the part to rotate 180 degrees using the tool planes. All of the holes are on the top of the part so ideally I would want to drill all the holes on one half then rotate the part 180 degrees then drill all the holes on the other half. Any suggestions on how to do this?
  11. Thanks for the response. I'll break up the tool path accordingly. Is there an easy way to set the C axis while doing a 5 axis drill tool path?
  12. I'm having a problem with the NC code for our 5-axis machine. The issue is the spindle can only reach half the table so all y values have to remain positive. I can't figure out how to fix this. Is it something in the post, the machine definition, or tool path? I've done the following to try and alleviate this issue: -Changed the y-limits in the machine definition -Changed the y-limits inside the post. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for the help!
