  1. When I do this, the mill tool library is blank:
  2. Is there a simple way to copy existing/defined drills in a mill library to a lathe library?
  3. To my surprise, it did work no problem. I had to play with the travel distances a bit, but it handled it.
  4. I was reading my probing routine documentation and it has O9816 to find an external corner. It says you can use I & J if the part surfaces are not parallel to the machine axis, but it does not say anything about defining the nominal angle value. This makes me think that the routine can account for some misalignment error to the axis but not a full 24.965° like I have in the pic. I would think an angle of this magnitude would need vectored moves to be remotely accurate. Has anyone used this routine in a situation like this? My goal is to find both the red corners and set G54 between them.
  5. Sometimes I'm able to fix this by: Copying the mesh to another level, deleting the original mesh, and using the new copy to define the stock shape. This works here and there.
  6. I don't know if anyone else runs into this issue, but this happens to me enough to be very annoying. On the left is a mesh that I use to define stock shape in a stock model operation. On the right, is my result after generating a stock model. A random vise is apart of the original shape. How and why.. I have no clue. Does anyone else run into this issue when creating stock models?
  7. A previous z2g file worked! Awesome! Didn't even think of that. Thank you!
  8. I booted up mcam2024 and the workspace file got reset to default... ugh. Is there a way to retrieve my previous layout?
  9. Ok I've ran into something new to me... When I go to backplot operations, it moves my camera view to a "front" view even if I select top... I don't remember backplot ever moving my viewing planes? hmm I could me remembering that wrong.. I don't know.
  10. Is there a way to "slide" the parting blade after creating the holder? Or would you have to create a new holder for a different stick out length?
  11. Is the blade or the block considered the "Holder" - when defining components
  12. Hi all, I am struggling to successfully create a 3D tool for my parting blade, insert, and tool block. Does the blade and tool block need to be merged as one solid? Cut Off Tool Model-Lathe.mcam
  13. I just bought mcam lathe earlier this year and it seems like it is 10-15 years behind the mill side of things. The tool library management sucks. (I could be doing it wrong)
  14. I'm going to tell you that it has not been added to lathe You're not the only one who wants it!
  15. Do you know how to hide the primary inserts from the viewing window when trying to align the 2nd insert? When I bring in a different insert, I cannot select the mating face on the boring bar making the process impossible.
  16. For 3D lathe tools, I'm trying to avoid having to create a tool assembly for each insert radius & chip breaker that I use. In the tool designer, is "add an insert" a good way to achieve what I'm after? Whenever I try to "add an insert", the primary insert is in the way of aligning the new insert.
  17. Does anyone have a link to the list of the XML tags? I'm struggling to find it on the website.
  18. How did I miss this... lol. Looked over that reference field 10 times.... Just got mcam lathe today so its all new to me. On an unrelated note... it appears the lathe side of the software does not get as much love as the milling side.
  19. Is there a way to force a retract between toolpaths? In this picture, I'd like it to go up to the point before starting the finish path? In this example I had to add a long lead-in to the finish path in order to avoid hitting the thread OD.
  20. Are the professional AMD Radeon PRO W7800/W7900 cards good for Mastercam? Wondering if anyone has gone that route?
  21. No, apparently other people are having the same problem on the main forum. I think they are looking into it.
  22. Fixed! Parameter 01401.1 (LRP) = 0 Mine was set to 1
  23. SMEC SL2000B Was not programmed in mastercam
