Hey there, I am kind of very confused about Milling Cutter Compensation and Climb - Conventional milling. Which method to use when and how does it affect tool life? My employer says always use left cutter compensation and spindle should rotate in clockwise direction. Although confused but I don't think its right. Please help me understand this concept. I am using MasterCam 2017. Earlier it used to give approximately accurate machining time but now It won't give me time. For machining a 16 mm bore 12 mm deep Aluminium with feed rate 1200 and Spindle at 2000 cut being 0.1mm. It shows 1 minute time in backplot as well as in Verify (Simulator) but actually it takes around 3 minutes to machine. All the parameters mentioned are in metric I remember Updating MasterCam few months ago. And also it takes a lot of time to open the Application. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Hello everyone, I need to machine a profile pocket using Surface Blend Operation. I have made the surface by blending curves but while using Finish Blend Operation I'm unable to contain tool inside the geometry. Tool Containment dialog box just wont open and it remains at center by default. How do I contain my tool to inside in same operation. Thank You

I want cavity normal to cylinder surface I did Substitute Y axis it works good. but while verifying Rotary Axis rotates with tool, giving jerks which may damage tool and WP. I Want Rotary Axis to index by 45 degree only when cavities are machined. Is there any way of doing this...? Thank You

U may use Contour Toolpath and then go to Tapered wall option tick there and give desired angle of taper. It works good.

Hey There, I want some cavities to be machined on a Cylinder with the help of Rotary Axis. Say 8 repeats each spaced at an equal angle . I tried using Rotary Axis Control And Rotate Option Toolpath Transform Option. Please help me to choose right toolpaths and parameters. Thank you
