All good advice.
So many ways to skin a cat
I am lazy and just wired the whole thing finished and tapped the piston down till I couldnt move the Parallel underneath it.
All of are "Worn" tooling
Goes into bins that the ToolMakers
(Manual mill) pick through and Destroy.
Then it goes into the scrap carbide bin
Or gets Resharpened.
We have an awesome drill sharpner
That has paid for itself 100 times over.
Shady
Take a block Cut your bore
then Run slots almost all the way out to the Ends Down the center of the block (So you can collapse the Bore when you clamp on it in a vice)
We have a Wire so I used that to do the whole thing.
I could send you a file if you want.
(Total G job)
Tony
Edit: You can c'bore the back of the block for
the wrist pin to maintain location of each piston
I have a "Tally" in front of my Monitor
Of How many times Backplot alone has saved
Me. 26 times in 5 years
In the same time frame 15 times the block was completely Un salvagable!!!!
We get 25% on the dollar matched
Also we can change Everything about it
on the fly through the internet.
In four years my first of three will start college
Then I have two weddings to pay for sometime after that.
I'm just putting it away while I can.
We have a 1400 that gave us years of Service.
Only recently does it error out.
"Illegal this Illegal that"

Also I can no longer edit within the controller
It will shut down on the spot.

If they have a PC controller I turn them off
Whenever there not being used
Just like any PC they can get screwy without a reboot now and then.

(M32 Clamp A axis)
"The clamp A axis code clamps the A axis.
For A axis moves after M32,The A axis automatically unclamps and clamps after the move is made.
(M33 Unclamps untill a M32 is programmed)
M33 is active before the other commands
in the block are executed and is cancelled
by a clamp A axis (M32) command

You need to get there ISNC software package
to cut complex shapes/surfaces.
Also When you have MC's arc filter going in all planes and a tight cutting tolerence (.0002)etc.
you will get Wild moves thrown in like
a 29.00 full circle (Which is obvious in a
controllers graffic check)and sometimes a
few tiny full circles that you have to really zoom in on to catch.
you can choose not to use mc's arc filter
but then your surface will look all "Disco ball looking"
I use filter and raise the cut tolerence till the wild moves go away, it doesnt happen that often.
Also I have stalled the vm1 with a 1.250 drill bit
and another guy snapped the Belt!
I have a great post for you too,no problem
Feel free to contact me with any questions
