2017 Transform / Rotate is bullet proof
4 Pallets 8 electrodes on each
Each electrode has identical detail every 120 degrees same ops each
Solo paths rotated 3 x per ghosting 1st set of ops.
Tranformed this ALL OVER THE REST OF THE PALLET and other pallet stations.
Still dont trust Mirror. Lol
While were on the subject...
Autodesk / Powermill etc.
Straight Lease now. Almost $ 10,000 a year, you don't pay the bill next year ,you don't have software.
No maintenance.
No purchasing a seat
Boo Hiss !
Please don't follow these foot steps CNC
EDIT: Two seats...not one
Mine came on a USB , but were almost already on update 2
You will still need to get past a firewall for those.
You need update one minimum for the "All curves / create curves come out as splines " that need to be simplified saga.
Similar
One I cant stand is the XY stepover
% of dia. Min @ Max
It Stays at some other tools
Last tool , last time I used the toolpath etc.
Values.
I.e.
The % is at 75 % min .030 max .090
But I just picked a 1/2 endmill
The only way that it updates is if I change the 75 % to 76 etc.
What am I missing ?
Thanks !
I'm on 2017 and never going back but Funny how X3 / X4 Mirror (debacle) still drives my transforming approach.
I mirror my solid ,geo stock model and then use transform to verify it
But I still won't transform / mirror it and then hit cycle start .
Back then I would send the reports into QC labeled
"I'm going to be Fired" !!
Ahh I knew it had something to do with
How I picked it , I had center of arc locked on vs. Zeroing on the arc center with the cursor.
( 280 miles south of that bench currently)
Lol
Im guessing he could pick the center of different sized holes and the dia field
Would be greyed out and his one tool would nail all the different dia.
This can still be done in 2017 / X9
But I have start a Fresh toolpath to do it. Can't edit an old one to new geo. Like before it seems.
(I am literally sitting on a picnic table
In Fish creek Wis. The leaves have almost peaked in color.)
Its telling you your lead in cant be pulled off like as in your controller needs a min of 1/2 the tool dia. Before it can start the contour.
( some controllers dont need any of this as long as you dont have "Wear " checked i.e. cutter comp)
I HAVE SPOKEN !
(Surface issues) When I untrim or extend a surface it makes 14 0r 47 or... odd amounts of Duplicate surfaces in the one mouse click.
I can see them in Delete duplicates but , delete duplicates won't delete them.
I have to pain stakingly delete them one at a Time !?!
I have even created a simple Loft surface ( 2 line Ruled) and the result is my new surface and my last surface trim to plane pop's back un trimmed with 63 duplicates !!
Undo quit's about 5 minute's into a session.
I had it set to unlimited and or 100 at 500 meg.
Didn't matter. to get undo to work again you have to close out and then re open it.
Awesome stuff going on when making electrodes.
It takes me hours longer fighting these two things.
I will run Jing video tomorrow to send into QC.
There will always be a use for V9 legacy toolpaths like S.F.C. and Flowline.
They give you the exact result your looking for with minimal data fields to answer.
Way out there but...in my low 50's and have been at this since 1984..
anything put in front of me, I have a plan / process / attack at it right out of the gate .
I have seen it before in one way or another.
I made xx,500. last year
My wife (Wilma j/k) thinks i'm worth 100,000 min. "HEY ,THEY NEED YOU , your the commodity " !!!
The scenario of someone "Over selling" there product still continues.
Your doing the right thing , keeping the peace and just figuring out what is actually a capable feed rate / load etc.
The " Metal Movers " here are Cat 50 Mazaks. What took 3 hours at another shop takes an hour at this place.
Ear muffs on,
3" Komet sending snake like chips up over the top of the machine while your finger is .005 off the feed hold button
(in case you lose coolant pressure and or the price of the tool)
