Good morning all, I've noticed this with the last several versions of Mastercam. When I need to import a Parasolid file (*.X_T) the Parasolid file needs to be sent in a lower version of itself. Mastercam isn't set to import the current level of the file. Is there a setting I can change or is it what it is? Thanks

Good Morning all, I am looking for a 5 axis, impeller machining genius to help me out. I need to 5 axis rotary mill some titanium impeller blades that the casting house messed up. My question. Is these anything special I need to calculate to determine what I need for the tapered ball end mill I will need to use? I've tried programming with several basic sizes and tapers. All seem to give me different results with gouging but all in different areas. Thanks

Hi Guys, We have two MAM-75 with Fanuc 30I controls (5 axis) machines and they are set up different then our other machines. Our normal procedure is pull program into machine memory thru our DNC Download / Customer directory. The MAMs do the same but they pull them into the machines internal data server where they then can bring it into machines memory and once there they are to delete the program from the internal data server. We noticed on one of the machines that in the data server there are probably 80+ programs. Some are duplicate programs for the same operation where one doesn't match the other nor the program that is in the DNC. A real cluster You-know... Sorry for the rant. I want to dump all programs in the machines data server to somewhere so we can compare all the programs with MasterCams output programs and delete all the multiples and junk program. My question is does anyone know of a quick and easy way to retrieve the programs from it's data server? Sorry and Thanks

Thanks guys, I'm not sure if it was in older versions but in 2022 in the hole def area I was able to add L2 to each hole and it bored, bored moved to next hole and bored, bored and went home, in the nc code only. Backplot only showed the boring of 2 holes, one time only. Not great by any means but effective.

Good Afternoon all, In milling, I have two holes the that we bore to finish size. Parts ran, operator uploaded proven program and I am evaluating it. On the bored holes the operator added a L2 to each of the 2 location. I said OK needed a ghost pass. In MasterCam I added the locations again so now MasterCam has four holes to bore. 1st and 2nd then moves for 3rd and 4th. Plots good but only posts out 2 locations. Any ideas on why it will not bore twice in the same spot? Thanks

I believe I found the culprit. I only have one sheet but in the settings area the Automatic restore bookmark settings was checked off. Not really sure what that means but I checked ver 2019, 2020 and 2021 and none were checked off. If nothing else guys, Thank you for having me look into it more.

I tried it again before my rant. I had 4 of 63 levels open. I positions the part in front view. I saved the file and got out of MasterCam. opened it again and opened the file again. Every level is open and it is in the top view.

Hi Guys, I have never seen more unhappiness about a MasterCam version.... ever. One of my issues is that when I save a 2022 file and open the next day or later in the day it doesn't open in the same state as I saved it. Is there a way to go around this "we are smarter then you" upgrade? 2022 should have never been allowed to be released. Its almost as if they want to sell-off.... OH, WAIT....

Good Morning, I am doing a somewhat large part on a horizontal machine. For parts of the program I rotary mill (part turns on rotary table) There are areas that I can not rotary mill due to closer, smaller spots. Is there a way or better yet an example to rotary mill following curves or wireframe instead of surfaces? All I am looking for is to place ball mill on a chain and have machine rotate to a spot . I can not find anything in MasterCam 2020 that will allow this. Thanks in advance.

Good Morning All, Is it possible to stop the solids from automatically highlighting when I want to pick something? If I ask for arch center and the solids edge is highlighted then it picks the solids edge and not arc curve that I wanted. Please advise. very annoying. Thanks

Yes I see that and thanks but most of the tapered threadmills I see and have used the diameter of the tool is the small end of the tool. I could work it backwards with the taper and see what I come up with. I'll try that and see. Thanks

Hi Guys, Question, I haven't thread milled an NPT hole in a very long time and feel silly but forgot how to find the size to program to. 1/2-13 program to .500 3/4-10 program to .750 1/8-27 NPT program to ? Please advise. Thanks

That is what I thought. I changed to a different 5 axis post and it worked fine. Went back to the post I need and it said I was stupid again. Possible Machine/post confusion?

Exactly. I program 4 & 5 axis mills with no issues and have never needed to use the multi axis feature to do this. With 2020 I opened a 5 axis program "made with 2019" to make some modifications and save it as to not lose the changes. When I go to post it out, it will not go past the 1st operation. I receive "Error-the tool can not be positioned within machine rotary limits" I changed the enhancements to 5 axis and now everything comes from the top plane.
