  1. I'm having trouble getting Mastercam to not cut into my part during C-axis machining. As you can see in the photos it cuts correctly on the left side of the part but when it cuts on the right side it cuts past where it should. I want an oval but I'm getting a pyramid. I have run the actual code in the machine and it is cutting like that. Thanks for any help!
  2. Yes, it is in a lathe. Even if I select "Y" it still comes out like C axis. Which the more I think about it the more I think that might be the better way to go. Part looks so big on the screen, I'm forgetting it's only .250 wide!
  3. Need some help with drawing and creating toolpaths of the feature in the picture. I have this part that has a flag machined into it and I want to use a ball endmill from a live cross working tool to machine it using X and Y axis. From the centerline it measures .403 to the top of the flag (.536 top to bottom) and .246 wide. I've tried everything I know but the endmill keeps coming in like I was using the C axis. Thanks for any help!
  4. Anyone know how to get MasterCam to generate a groove when the width of the groove is the same as the width of the tool? I can get around it by lying and making the tool smaller but I would like to avoid that if there is a way.
  5. Ok I got my answer on this from a co-worker. So you do pretty much what I said above using the red arrow to flip the part back around and make the change you need to the wireframe, then to re-take that "snap shot" you delete just the flip op then re-do it which will capture the change. You will need to "Re-generate dirty operations" too.
  6. Thanks for the reply, that's what I ended up doing. Trying to find a way around it.
  7. Hello, So I have drawn a wireframe part in Mastercam lathe 2021 created toolpaths, and flipped the stock to start creating toolpaths on the backside, after flipping I realized I forgot to add a corner radius at a shoulder. I back up the red arrow in the toolpaths window to flip the stock back around so I can add the radius but when I flip the stock back the radius doesn't follow. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is how to re-select the whole wireframe again to flip the stock? Thanks for any help
  8. Finally got it to work. Took a little experimenting but after turning off the stock update and playing around with orientation as stated above its cutting as it should. Posted code and that looked good too. Needed to change the orientation in both top plane and turret to #6. Thank You!
  9. Here is some pictures of whats happening and how the tool is setup. In the picture of the part the yellow line is what I want to back-turn, the blue line is where it's going to which is above where I want to make a finish path. I will post the other pictures separate, it won't let me post all of them together.
  10. So I was able to create the tool no problem with the method above but I'm having a similar problem as before where I get a "Toolpath starts with the tool embedded in the stock" error. By changing some setting in the tool path I can get it to run through put then the tool cuts in places it should not.
