  1. Does anyone know where to sell tooling & or inspection equipment (boring bars, endmills, indicators). Is there a website besides "ebay" that is more directed towards manufacturing. Part of an agreement i was given a certain percentage of a business so buying my own tooling out of pocket was a condition. Things did not go well. Now i have a few things i couldn't get rid of was hoping for so help. All ideas welcome thank you
  2. I WOULD TRY THE NEXT "H" SIZE UP. MOST TIME IVE ROLLED TAPPED I WAS PUTTING A HELICOIL IN THE HOLE SO PLATING WAS NOT REALLY AN ISSUE. BUT IF YOU ARE CLOSE TO SIZE I THINK EACH "H" NUMBER YOU GO UP, OPENS THE THREAD .0005 TOTAL .00025 EACH SIDE. THAT SHOULD GET YOU THERE BUYING CUSTOM GAUGE UNLESS ITS A PRODUCTION RUN (HIGH QUANTITY) MIGHT BE PRICEY .
  3. In the second to last picture where you ask to get rid of machining marks it looks like you are cutting a big radius or arc. depending on your machine when the "x" or "y" change from negative to positive or vise versa. The machine depending on maintenance and age might jump or shake witch will cause that. i worked on an old machine where we would machine a circle and the bore would have 4 vertical lines. one at 3 o'clock 6 9 12 because this is were the axis go from neg. to pos. but as far as the sharp corner it just looks like you need to play around in mastercam a bit more try different tool paths to get it right and as you can see the mastercam simulation is pretty close to what your going to get.
  4. Thank very much i will look into getting some new cutters and jaws at 60deg. to see if it helps.
  5. no the jaws are 45 deg. dove tail. i tested the hardness on our rockwell hardness tester "c" scale. new jaws are 45 on the "c" scale old jaws are 54 on the "c" scale the jaws are both from the same company same part number but the test shows they are quite different
