  1. Before Ryzen 7xxx came out I would say clock speeds. But now I think that's a moot point. Intel does have more robust support for DDR5 RAM right now, so if you're wanting to get on the DDR5 train it's probably still the best choice for now. If you're running DDR4, or if you're willing to wait a while for Ryzen to catch up on DDR5 support then sure that would be a good route to go.
  2. The Gigabyte Aorus 17X AZF is available with a i9-13980HX, RTX 4090, and plenty of RAM. If you're only running Mastercam then I wouldn't be too worried about running a gaming video card, they seem to run fine and no worse than the nicest pro cards. If you're running Solidworks too then maybe the A5500 makes more sense. I've been running a 3080Ti for a while now and I've not had any issues. Of course, you have to be ok with the very gamer aesthetic, but I don't mind it myself. It's like half the price of the Dell, so that might be worth something to you. If you go with the specs above see if you can get that RAM in a 64x2 configuration instead. Dual channel RAM has a significant performance impact compared to single channel.
  3. Make sure to open the Options in the Multi-Threading Manager (! button) and set the threads and default priority. For your system you could max out threads at 24 and priority should probably be set to High.
  4. New computer day! And boy howdy did this make a difference. Intel i9-12900kf processor Arctic Freezer ii 240 AIO cooler Nvidia RTX 3080ti graphics card (edit, Gigabyte OC edition) 32gb DDR5 Ram @ 6000mhz Asus Z690-P MOBO 1000 watt EVGA power supply Meshify 2 case All storage is m.2 NVME 2 minute time. This is a new dawn for Mastercam. And yes, I am a gamer and this is also my gaming/streaming build
  5. Sounds like Codemeter got a bit bunged up after the update, you should call your reseller and have them check it out. They will probably have you uninstall your license, reinstall Codemeter, then reinstall your license. Sounds like a Network software license. Software licenses are only supported in versions 2019 and newer. Hopefully your reseller actually told you or someone above you about that before the changeover.
  6. 2018 MacBook Pro running Bootcamp. i9-8950HK, 32Gb RAM, Radeon Pro 560X MC2022 Update 1 (24.0.19884.0) Windows 10 Pro 1909 (18363.1556). Updating Windows on Bootcamp gets sketchy with graphics card drivers, so I try to keep it locked down. With all background processes turned off I get 3:35. With my normal other stuff running, just a couple seconds shy of 4 minutes. I think these laptops are fantastic, but they do have a heat problem. It regularly hits 100C and has to throttle to keep cool. I keep it on a riser with fans actively blowing on the body to help, but still gets quite hot. We have a couple other MacBook Pros to test here at work, I'll post about those when I get results and a hardware spec sheet.
  7. Fantastic thank you Roger! Worked perfectly
  8. Nope that was my first idea actually, didn't change anything.
  9. So I have no idea how it got changed, but some of the buttons on Mastercam have suddenly changed size. Whats really weird is that it's just the buttons in manager windows, but not in the main ribbon. The text that comes up in the prompt windows is also really tiny. I can change the font size from the manager options (down arrow next to the pin) but this doesn't change the size of the buttons in the manager windows. Anybody know how to get it changed back?
