  1. Checked the defaults and there was a bunch of random tools. Tried deleting them all except one but still just populating random tools with the same diameter and tool number that aren't in my library if I don't select a tool before closing the operation. Not really a big deal I guess ill just have to make sure I select the tool every single time. *edit. The only time previous versions would auto populate random tools was if I didn't select a tool for the first operation. Every operation after would usually just use whatever tool I selected last or use a tool I already used in a different operation but never just add a random one. I also have get defaults from previous operation turned on.
  2. yeah its getting pretty annoying quick lol. Usually would use whatever I used last now I have to constantly delete random mastercam default tools that get added.. Hoping someone will chime in and tell me its just a setting I missed.
  3. Anyone having an issue with 2024 just adding random tools when making toolpaths? In previous versions if I only had 1 tool in my tool list it would just default to that tool. but now its just adding a random tool that I don't know the source of? For example: I was just starting roughing and only had a 1/2 endmill with a 1" flute length (the only 1/2 endmill in my library). Next operation and skip the tool page since there's only 1 tool and it added a 1/2 endmill with a .5" flute length. this tool doesn't exist in any of my libraries so I have no idea where it came from..
  4. " I uninstalled and reinstalled everything before I opened a ticket." "Ok, can you uninstall and reinstall again?"
  5. Ah, I had the exact same problem. The autodesk installer is broken and doesn't put any files in the mastercam chook folder. So the way I fixed it was going into the C:>Autodesk>CAMplete_Truepath_2024_2024_1_02882_win_64bit_dlm > x64 > Plugins > Mastercam > Mastercam 2024 Then uninstall then reinstall using the .msi program in there. Autodesk support kept asking me to uninstall and reinstall 100 times thinking it was a registry issue.
  6. Did you get CAMplete 2024 plugin to install correctly?
  7. Thanks for the replies, Went with the i9 10900k 32gb of ram with 64 on order.
  8. Seeing almost only i9's in the most recent posts with the only xeon not ranking a bit behind... I guess that answers my question lol. Been trying to read up so much I feel like I'm almost splitting hairs at this point..
  9. Looking into some fresh computers for work. From what I've been reading on here everyone is still partial to the i7 i9 processors over the Xeon's Any of the forums I've read are at least a couple years old so is this still the case? Currently looking at workstation p340 SFF Intel Xeon W-1250 Quadro p1000 4gb 32gb of ram 5 axis machining (with CAMplete) + some Solidworks thrown in. Not a huge computer guy (yet) so any input is appreciated!
  10. Just wanted to update the thread. I've been running the full version of mastercam 2020 with windows 10 in boot camp and It's been running flawlessly with no problems yet. I might actually prefer it over our setup at work. Running verify the fan will speed up considerably but hasn't crashed or really slowed performance enough to be a problem. The only 'issues' would be that the icons are very small even with the large icon setting turned on and I'd recommend getting an external keyboard with a number pad.
  11. Thanks for the replies Since i posted this I’ve got windows 10 running in boot camp and i have downloaded the mastercam 2020 demo/training. I goofed around in it with my limited knowledge for about 20-30 minutes generating tool paths and some simulations, everything seemed to run fine. Our reseller at work confirmed running the demo will work as he’s seen it multiple times. He’s unsure about the full version as it makes edits to the registry when installed and isn't sure How the mac handles that.
  12. I've been doing some research and i cant really find the answer I'm looking for. specs: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015). 2.5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7. 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB I already own my mac. This wouldn't be a full time setup more just for working at home. I'm planning on running windows in boot camp and have been told that the training will work fine on mac like this but I want to know if the full version will run stable or not? Is anyone else running this?
