  1. This is my first successful attempt at machining an impeller. I tried one a few years ago that had a splitter vane and a wicked twist, but couldn't get thru it without violating the vanes. I am a much better programmer now & the programming tools have gotten better & easier to use. Plus we have a machine that is made for full five axis high speed machining now. This one needs some improvements to the surface finish and improved blends, but I am happy to get one finished and I know improvement will come.
  2. Hello! I have an 5 axis CNC milling machine with limited rotating axes: the axis B (around Z) can rotating between 0 and 180 deg; the axis A (around Y) can -90 to 90 deg. I'm using a modified 'Generic Fanuc 5X Mill.pst' in Mastercam X7. If doing a Flow mill on a cone's cloak then in the simulation the B axis will rotating 360 deg, but in the generated NC code the toolpaths is splited on 180 every 180 degs. How can I set up Mastercam to pay respect to the machine limits when calculating toolpath? And why have to define the axes limits in many different places? (Machine Definition; Multiaxis Toolpath / Tool Axis Control; postprocessor)
  3. Is there a way to make an unwind retract move parallel to the tool direction rather than just up in Z? If the tool is tipped under the part, it crashes through the part in the retract move.
