  1. Hi! I urgently need a post processor for Mastercam V9, x2 or x6 for machine Deckel Maho DMC 63V with Siemens 810 / 840D. Thanks
  2. We had a programmer here who used to post to our robodrill 5 axis. However, I think when he updated his machines and post as time went on he kept them on his "box". I can NOT find anything to use. I tried running update utiliy on a post he had but it keeps saying psb missing something or other. I am trying to get a machine/control def to work but it is giving me inverse codes. For instance, the A can only go to positive 90 (rotating about Y to the left from operators POV)( hence making all X locations negative). I get A-90 and X(s) positive. NOT good. The other odd thing I get is the C . I know A90 and C 90 are my first operations but could only get the code to show A-90 C180... what the? I am of course too short for time to run this by our reseller. Job is hot and already on the machine. Any ideas? Thanks. Bill
  3. When trying to make a toolpath from the art program i get this error right after it asks the nc file name.not sure what is causing it. any help would be greatful. thanks, Scott
  4. In an attempt to start MasterCAM x6 HLE about a week ago after not having used it for a month, the program crashed when it read "Reading key mapping file." I looked online, found others had luck with uninstalling, cleaning out .NET framework and the registry and then reinstalling, but this didn't solve the problem. Not sure what to do, I contacted eapprentice (provides online MasterCAM courses), but they were just as stumped as I was. So they gave me a link to x7 HLE. With high hopes, I cleaned out x6 and started up x7, only to encounter another crash when it reads "Running command line commands." So I go to MasterCAM support. Over the past two days I've spent a couple of hours working with one of their tech reps (who has been great), but now the both of us are stuck. So I come to all of you. Has anyone encountered a similar error or have suggestions? Things I've already tried: Uninstall reinstall Registry cleaning .NET framework cleanout and reinstall Reinstall to a new drive location Disabling all antivirus features Installing Windows updates Uninstalling most software installed since it last work (save a couple games and some Adobe software). General disk cleanup (through CCleaner and Revo Uninstaller) Thanks
  5. When I create a solids layout in x6 mu3 and I use a template file it doesn't allow me to pick the size of drawing I want. also if I select 1 :1 scale the template doesn't seem to enlarge as the part. I thought maybe you didn't have to select the size of sheet you wanted it automatically changed the size of your template based on size or scale of part. any help would be appreciated.
  6. Good morning. I'm running X6 MU3. Occasionally when choosing Dynamic Core mill, the toolpath at the machine will cut wrong. It appears to read a radius and rather than cutting a segment it tries to cut the full radius and sometimes scraps the part. Using backplot software (cimco or discriminator) I am unable to identify where the problem will be. Has anyone else had a similar problem, and if so how did you correct this? Ajusting the cut tolerances does not seem to affect the outcome. Thanks, PS. For security reasons I cannot attach the file I am currently working with.
  7. Good evening, I'm having trouble opening 32bit dll using Mastercam X6. The history: -We made the all project using "AnyCPU" compilation. -No problems were detected and the app ran good. -RIght now we'r making integration with our MRP( for getting the parts list and dimensions) by a provided 32 bit unmanaged dll (originally programmed using Delphi). -We are only able to import this 32bit dll when runing a 32bit application, but when compiling VB dll to X86 CPU and runing Mastercam X6 says "Invalid File Type"... I'm guessing that because X6 is 64bit, it is unable to open 32bit dll... What should we do?
  8. Hi, I would need some help making a setup sheet that would look like the image I posted. I am able to get a setup sheet like this one on mastercam 9 but when I transfer the .set file to my mastercam x6 it has no effects at all. I even tried to input a blank .SET file and I get the same result. I have selected the .set in the configuration/file and in the configuration/toolpath.. Could someone help me plz.. Thanks! SSMC9.pdf
  9. X6 MU2, 64 bit... I have a Keymap set, where Alt+` is the Keymap that will access setting the Construction depth. If I am in the TOP C-Plane, Click Alt+`, and then type in a number (.1234 for example), then hit enter, the construction depth will be set to Z+0.1234... If I am in the FRONT C-Plane, and do the same thing, the construction depth is not getting set correctly. If I do this in ANY C-Plane other than TOP, I will not get the Construction depth I want... In X3, which was my previous version, I could use a Keymap, and set the Construction depth in ANY C-Plane, and it would work correctly. Anyone else encountering this? Yeah, yeah, yeah... why not just mouse-click the Construction Depth box, and type in my value... I am using this in a Macro, to set a very specific depth, and the keymapping is part of the macro... Now that this is not working, the macro is not giving me the result I want to see... Thanks.

  11. Hello to all, I try to get geometry from operations with a c-hook in X6 , in contour and pocket all is fine, I get the entities. But in drilloperations the chain_manager get no chains because there are points in the geometry and no chains I think. Can someone tell me how I can solve this? I use the following code, thank you for help, Karsten void OPDatenLesen() { CHAIN_ENT *chain_elem; CHAIN *act_chain; ent entity; chain_manager_info cmi; memset(&cmi,0,sizeof(chain_manager_info)); MC_BOOL succf; DB_LIST_ENT_PTR eptr; operation op; for (int i=1; i<5; i++) { op.op_idn = i; operation_manager(&op, OPMGR_GET, &eptr, &succf); if (succf) { if (op.db.select_flag == TRUE) { if (op.opcode == TP_DRILL) { cmi.op_idn = op.op_idn; cmi.mode = CHNMGR_GET; chain_manager(&cmi,0,&succf); // <- does not work in drill operations if (succf) { act_chain = cmi.chns; do { chain_elem=act_chain->start; do { get_ent_from_eptr(chain_elem->e_ptr,&entity); switch (entity.id) { case P_ID: { AfxMessageBox(_T("point")); break; } case A_ID: { AfxMessageBox(_T("arc")); break; } default: break; } chain_elem=(chain_elem->next); } while(chain_elem!=NULL); act_chain=(act_chain->next); } while(act_chain!=NULL); free_chains(&act_chain); } } else if (op.opcode == TP_CONTOUR || op.opcode == TP_POCKET) { cmi.op_idn = op.op_idn; cmi.mode = CHNMGR_GET; chain_manager(&cmi,0,&succf); if (succf) { act_chain = cmi.chns; do { chain_elem=act_chain->start; do { get_ent_from_eptr(chain_elem->e_ptr,&entity); switch (entity.id) { case A_ID: { AfxMessageBox(_T("arc")); break; } case L_ID: { AfxMessageBox(_T("line")); break; } case NB_ID: { AfxMessageBox(_T("spline")); break; } default: break; } chain_elem=(chain_elem->next); } while(chain_elem!=NULL); act_chain=(act_chain->next); } while(act_chain!=NULL); free_chains(&act_chain); } } } } } }
  12. I cant get my default machines to come up when I start a new pgm.These files are local. I also cant get the posted file locations (which are an a server) to work. It wants to always put the files in the default locations as when you set up mastercam. How do I fix this? Older versions setup just fine. Machine Guy

    Tools include: Hole Axis - used to quickly get the center points and vectors Minimum Bounding Box - lets you select surfaces or solids and automatically calculates the smallest block of material in free space with options to lock the rotation if needed Hidden Line - changes surface model display for screen printing Screen Shot - takes screen shot and opens in MSPaint NotePad - used to add and save notes into your model Auto Flip Normals – used to automatically flip surface normals in or out on surface models. Power Select - used to select multiple surfaces with minimal efforts, select seed surface and it automatically selects all the connecting neighbors that are tangent or use the “V” hot key fast selection of all surfaces pointing towards Gveiw, this is great for organizing part separation. Once selected you can change color, level or anything else Mastercam can do with selected surfaces. They are for 32 & 64bit.

  14. Hi, I'm currently in a 3rd year engineering program at my high school. In that class, we have numerous licensed educational seats of Mastercam X6, along with lots of other pieces of dangerous-looking equipment, available to us. I also have a copy of Mastercam X6 HLE on my laptop which I need to use in order to finish a large project with a very short deadline we were recently given. So, here's my problem: After I'm done with the software part of the project, I have to create the part on a CNC. Now, as you probably know, X6 HLE was neutered specifically to prevent people from being able to do that. So, is it possible to open Mastercam X6 HLE files on a licensed copy of Mastercam X6 and then post the NC file so I can machine the part?

  16. Hi Guys, I have recently upgraded to from x5 to x6 all was ok but my pc was way to slow, so my company unpgraded me to a pc built to the mastercam specs. In reinstalling software i have x5 working perfectly but have problems with x6. When starting up X6 i get to where is says checking hasp and everything stops, the program just turns off. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, renamed config(as suggested by mastercam), i dont know what else to do, due to not being very good with computers and being is oz it makes comunication with mastercam(time zone) difficult. please can anyone help.
  17. Hi All , I 've done a search and didnt find what i was looking for . I've read about this in Mastercam xtras but cant get it to work . Even when chaining open solid edges and using avoidance area and entry chain . I get and error message saying (open pockets will be ignored because custom entry is not enabled), even though custom entry is enabled . thanks in advance Ryan Hacker
