  16. Hi everybody, I'm new in the forum and using mastercam and solidworks... I have solidworks 2013 and mastercam X5, and I was wondering how to open the solidworks parts in mastercam x5, I know I can save them as .IGES or .DWG (autocad) and open them in mastercam x5 but when it comes to start the program for milling, I cannot select any line neither the center of any hole, any idea of what's happening or any suggestion? Thanks!
  17. When I program (manual entry) an M00 with this post, there is no M03 or G54 X,Y, or G43H afterwards. So the machine alarms out. This isn't a stock post, I've altered it quite a bit, how can I fix this? Control is a Fanuc 0i -MC
  18. I need a bit of a help editing a X5 post mpfan.pst for 2-axis plasma machine: the goal is having M73, M75, G4 (plasma on with delay) before feed movement and M74, M76, G4 (plasma off with delay) before every rapid movement and before M02. I managed to edit the post to almost desired result, except that I get M73, M75, G4 before many feed movement lines even that this funcions are still active from previous lines. I need to enter this functions to NC only the first time the feed movement (linear or circular) was engaged, then again if a rapid movement (G0) was used. Below I pasted a current NC output to give you a better understanding of my problem (unwanted code is stiked through): N100 G90 N110 G92 X0. Y0. 19. Hi Everyone -- I am new to this so UNDOUBTEDLY I am making a variety of embarrassing mistakes. I apologize profusely in advance. I just got dropped into the role of helping a student and our machinist try to get Mastercam X5 for SW talking to a Dynapath 20 controller, which runs a Lagunmatic milling machine. We bought a book... we are exploring examples and the directory structure, and trying to learn the lingo. The task we want to perform is to decide whether, or where, we have any problems. How do we most easily test whether the computer is able to talk to the controller? And how do we know if we have the right post processor? And, what question should we ACTUALLY be asking? Thanks in advance if you have even a couple of terse words of guidance! Sincerely yours, Jim Papadopoulos Instructor, Mechanical Engineering, Northeastern University
  20. Hello all, I recently purchased the Multi-Media Combo pack, which I find really helpfull. The only problem is, there are no drawings included (that I can find) of the tutorial parts. I'd kinda like to know what my part is supposed to look like before I create the geometry. Does anyone know if they are available and where I can find them? Regards
  21. So I am very new to mastercam (we are using it at my school and I have got the basics down), and I am wanting to create a case for my iPhone, and mill it. I have found a few models on grabcad that looks do-able. Unfortuantely, no matter what I try, any time I import something into mastercam all the green lines are selected at once- this makes it impossible to create a toolpath to mill it. I cannot figure out how to split the lines, break does not seem to work, neither does other file types (parasolid, STEP, etc). Nothing. How do I get the model split apart, without having to completely do it in mastercam? I have been using solidworks to view the file and mastercam to mill.
