  1. I have MasterCams Generic 5-axis post for haas mills and I'm pretty inexperienced with post processors. Currently the post processor outputs all of our code to be compatible with DWO (G254). Is there something in the misc integers/misc real I don't know about to post utilizing TCPC for our simultaneous operations? Or something in the post processor I need to change? Or do I just need to buy a more advanced post? Thanks in advance for any help/advice!
  2. This is my first time posting on this forum so forgive me if this has been answered already. I did a search and found others with similar questions but not a lot of definitive answers. I thought I had a breakthrough when I converted an opti-rough path into a 5 axis toolpath. However when simulating I realized that the path it spit out had defaulted to its own planes. When I tried correcting this my toolpath was broken. The tool was doing all kinds of really messed up things. My original toolpath is using (WCS) Top - (Tplane) Custom plane #1 - (C-plane) Custom plane #1. I created the custom plane #1 off the part geometry by just selecting a large face on the front side of the model. This usually works fine on its own toolpath. When I normally do 5 axis simultaneous I always use Top - Top - Top. This never fails me. But now I'm using a combination of my Origin path and this Convert function and I'm not sure what I'm violating when setting up my planes for each toolpath. It seems I cant get this path to work right unless the original toolpath is using all planes set to Top. From what I gathered other users had similar issues in X6 and X7. I'm using 2022 and I find it hard to believe this awesome tool would be cucked this hard by this one little thing. Does anyone have a little advice on how to properly set up planes for this?
  3. Hello, I have a problem with my Okuma Mu 400 VA. We bought this machine a few weeks ago and I ran a few tests on it but it wont make a full 5 axis cut. I read about TCPC (G169) on Okuma and tried it but it throws an error. I cant find a solution maybe someone can help me out here?
  4. Hello everyone, I'm having trouble configuring the generic fanus 5 axis post. I have a c/b head setup but when I tell the B axis to rotate 90 degrees during a TPlane change, it tilts up much further than 90 degrees. Is there a way to calibrate the postprocessor so that the B axis is in the correct angle? Values for rotary limits seem to only accept units such as millimeters, however 90mm does not correspond to 90 degrees on my machine. Thanks, John.
  5. Hi All, I could really use some help. I am cutting honeycomb and for the life of me I cannot get my lead/lag angle to apply to my toolpath entry. I have tried 5X flowline and parallel. I have a 1.5deg lead angle on the tool path but get my tool path to enter with the angle applied. Thank you,
  6. i just started to learn 5axis and my question is how do i edit the post from my z center of the trunion to the top of the part? or do u guys use plane (z .125 + fixture to the top of the part) or edit the post?. ex. if i face top of the part, my post output is z0 but the programmer at my shop post it at 5.1234. i asked him how he did it; he refused to help me by saying " its a secret." background: i went to college and the instrustor did not covered about posting. i bought books from emastercam and it didnt even cover anything about posting. thank you. i would appreciated if u help.
  7. I've used mastercam since V5.5, used it heavily from V6 to X, took another job in sales that diverted me from programming for a while, now I'm back. In the past, I used NCL for all 5 axis programming, NCL is no longer available to me so I'm going to use X7. How can I get up to speed quickly? is the Advanced multiaxis training manual good? are there any good sample files available? Where is the best place to go for 5-axis training? my local reseller recommended a local contract programmer. appreciate all the help I can get.. Russ
