So i have this part that I'm having trouble finding a good toolpath to finished the floor, and need to create it with a .005 rad, i don't know how but that's what the super smart engineers want lol, its also being machine in a 5th axis machine so any ideas on how what i have in the file is just some unified toolpaths I'm playing around with, i don't really know much about the unified toolpaths, I'm a noob thanks! emastercam file.MCAM-CONTENT

Hi all, I have about 2.5 years of 5th axis experience but mostly with Swarf Mill, Curve and lots of 3+2. I would like to learn how to drive the Unified Toolpaths. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to go about mastering Unified as fast as possible? recommendations, links, YouTube videos? I checked Mastercam University and help content but couldn't find much more than an introductory explanation about what they can do. Anything you think will help me would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I used a swarf 5th axis toolpath to chamfer the outside of this unique shaped part. It looks okay in verify and simulation but i noticed these little jitters during the machine simulation. I am hoping one of you generous mastercam experts would be willing to shed some light on better ways to do this or how to fix my current approach. Here is a link to the zip2go if you're interested in lending a hand https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/18p67EguB-cVAMcBn51taQRgUPCWOBO0J?usp=sharing. non experts are welcome to help as well. Thank you

Hi everybody, I have a Dovetailed O-Ring Groove on a Compund Radius. I used Curve to program it. I was testing it on a Haas VF2 with a TR200Y. The path looked nice and smooth around the curves with all 5 axis moving BUT before and after it pauses and the 5th axis rotary brakes engages/disengages. I don't have any M codes to use the brake in my G code. I was thinking maybe it's a setting in the Haas but didn't see anything that caught my attention looking through them. Please help! 5TH AXIS CURVE PRACTICE.ZIP

I am trying to use Curve to corner round as much of this part in one smooth motion. the tool is transitioning too slowly around the 90 degree corners. Sadly my shop only has curve so it's my only option. Does anyone have advice on how to get the transition to happen 100% on the corner? I added extra tool axis control lines but it still doesn't orient correctly until it gets to the middle.

Hi everyone, what are your favorite methods to keep your part rotated toward the operator while doing 5 axis? So far I have been lucky by doing a little re arranging of ops to keep the part visible but I have this part where I am machining the left and right sides and when i post them individually they rotate to the operator but when i post both the second side rotates to the back of the machine. Also curious about which way positive A and B axis rotation should be on your standard 5 axis...on the 5 axis machines here if i rotate to A-90 the rotary platter faces the doors/operator....which is opposite of how our 4th axis rotaries move....Anyway just looking for some good resources.

Hello, We have a Haas VM-3 mill with a 5th axis TR160 trunnion on its way and I was wondering if any of the generic posts in Mastercam were adequate in posting for this particular machine definition? If not, can anyone point me in the right direction of getting a post? Thanks
