  1. My shop runs all Mazaks and we have 1 Mazak Variaxis J600. Normally we program it in Mazatrol, but I am trying some software to program it in g-code. The biggest problem is no one in the shop knows g-code. The issue I am asking here is how to use g54.2 to index. The machine is not capable of 5 axis movement but we still can't get it to index correctly. It will index to the correct angle but the tool doesn't track to the correct place. Would anyone be able to help us and guide us through to making good parts?
  2. We have a Mazak Variaxis I800, the guys at the floor only have the option to use Restart 2; this is non-modal. I emailed Mazak and they said that Modal Restart cannot, i.e. Restart 1, cannot be used due to the explanation below. Anyone have any say on this, seems like the machine would be able to pick up and read all the previous codes no problem. The Mazak Manual even offers the option and does not warn about any complications. G54.2 - Dynamic Offsetting II Restarting in the program cannot be executed inside of G54.2 mode. G54.4 - Work Position Error Comp. Restarting operation from a block in the mode of workpiece setup error correction begins with a movement to the accordingly corrected position and to the position without correction, respectively, in the case of using the [RESTART] and the [RESTART 2 NONMODAL] menu function. G05P2 G61.1 - High Speed Smoothing Alarm is generated. G43.4 - Tool Tip Point Control Alarm is generated if restarting is done inside of G43.4 or on the line of cancelation, G49.
  3. Hello everyone, I am a mastercam mill level 1 user for several years now and using the search function once in a while but could not find the information i need. So here are my questions. We have a new vertical machining center with 4 th axis The machine is a Hartford HCMC-2082 with fanuc 32i with the G54.2 rotary table dynamic fixture offset ( rtdfo ) function. We are trying to get this function to work but we have no experience with it, and the machine seller doesn't either. The fanuc book also is not very clear. I have read that ithe function is used a lot on horizontal machines, but can it also be used on a vertical machine with the 4th axis when the parameters are set ? Does it use G28 which is on a horizontal machine in the center off the table i think, but on a vertical machine the G28 is a fixed position not in the center of the table so is this a problem. What must be set in the G54 page and what must be set in the G54.2 page on the control. Where do you have to set the workpiece coordinate ( G54 ? ) and where the center off rotation ( G54.2 ? ) We have tryed with G10 L21 Pn P and that does fill the x y z and c coordinate from the program in the rtdfo page on the control. May be a example can make things clear. When we know how the function works we want to use it with mastercam in the MPMASTER post, or is this to complicated. Is there a working fanuc post from mastercam or inhouse or somewhere else. Any help will be very much appreciated. Regards Richard
