  1. When creating stock models for programs i was wondering if there was a way to convert them into other files directly to use for cmm purposes per op instead of working off the model in mastercam and comparing to the final part in the cmm program. (cmm program camio 8.5 files it accepts for the model are .sab .hsf .sat .igs and .stp)
  2. Hey Anyone knows where to find the "Xform STL" button in the new 2017 interface? I've been using that function a lot in MCX8, but now I can't seem to find it anywhere in 2017. Thanks
  3. The STL file I've saved from my verify is always in the wrong position when I select it to be my stock for the next setup verify. What am I missing here? It always brings the STL in orientated in the Setup One view which is 180 degrees off from my setup two view. I know I'm missing something easy here.
  4. I am having a problem in X8 with the stock model. I have the build from Sept 22 (under the help>about tab), pretty sure I downloaded the latest version... So if I verify a part and save it as an stl it looks like garbage when I use the file as the stock model. Oddly, if I use the stock model toolpath and generate it from source operations it looks fine. If I take that stock model (generated from the source operations and stock setup) and right click and export to stl it looks fine as well. Any ideas? I have my save as stl tolerance at .005 in the mastercam simulator defaults. I don't know if the probelm is repeatable in other files yet, but I did try and restart MCX and that didn't help. I vaguely remember seeing this a little in X7 too... Would the geometry of the part affect any of this? It was a .step import FWIW. The part itself is fairly small, 1/2x2x6 roughly, but it does have a lot of small features. I can't post any pics or files because it is ITAR controlled. Thanks for any help
  5. I am having an issue wit X7 verify. on some parts I save my stock from running the verify so I can use it on my next operation to verify. I have had no issues until just a few weeks ago and now every time I try and use the exported stl stock file it tells me one or more issues has occurred. any ideas?
  6. I just loaded MU2 and brought in an stl and it came in infused with serious visual problems (even worse than before) the color is not constant, is there a setting to fix this or not? I DO NOT WANT TO USE A STOCK MODEL FOR THIS! I dont feel like i need to be force feed the stock model scam because CNC Software keeps making the STL quality worse, I use these as simple visual aids for my setup sheets. I attached a before and after MU2 screen shot.
  7. Ive been using stl files for rest mill ect for a while. normal process for a round part is recieve the turned model as an stl for me to then put on 4axis. Normally what i do is just save the stl file as an stl but some of the larger parts i have to create a boundry then create a revolved solid from the flat 2d then save as stl, but lately all my stl file end up being massive, like 60mb. i dont know why my files are ending up so big. please help..
