  1. Not to long ago Chally helped me fix a 5th axis Swarf path from MCAM 2022. changing my Advanced Control Strategy from Automatic to Sync with ISO. Now I am on MCAM 2023 and I don't see that drop down menu in any of the tabs. Did It go away, is it hidden or is Mastercam 2023 that much better to where it doesn't need it anymore?
  2. Hi all, I used a swarf 5th axis toolpath to chamfer the outside of this unique shaped part. It looks okay in verify and simulation but i noticed these little jitters during the machine simulation. I am hoping one of you generous mastercam experts would be willing to shed some light on better ways to do this or how to fix my current approach. Here is a link to the zip2go if you're interested in lending a hand https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/18p67EguB-cVAMcBn51taQRgUPCWOBO0J?usp=sharing. non experts are welcome to help as well. Thank you
  3. I will start by saying I am unfamiliar with multi axis toolpaths. i am having issues getting this swarf pass on the yellow highlighted surfaces, I do believe that im headed in the right direction tho. the tool seems too roll in at the wrong angle at the start of the pass and roll out at the wrong angle as well. i am using tilt lines for my "advanced control". below is some snippets of my part and toolpath parameters. i would be interested in sharing this file for someone to take a look the machine is a horizontal with 500mm tombstones, thanks much
  4. I'm machining a disk with a 5deg taper along the outside edge out 5 axis. The machine doesn't allow for any negative y values since the spindle can only reach to the center of the table. When I do a swarf cut for this outside profile, the code always seems to want to rotate the part 90 degs and work off to the side. For example the code has the spindle at around X10 and Y0, where I want the spindle at around X0 and Y10. The taper of the disk does change so currently the y values goes slightly negative. Any ideas on how to make this happen. I've tried the following: Forcing the primary axis to start at 0 Making the home location X0 Y10
  5. Yes I am fully aware i put in it in all caps. It is that amazing what I am been able to do the last couple days with this toolpath. I did a swarf area with this toolpath and got no retracts. We are using a 5/8 Ballendmill 8" OAL with a 6" Stick out with .75 LOC cutting at 7000 rpms and 75 ipm 5.5" deep. We cut 8 pockets .79 wide x 5" deep on a 20.54 Dia on the top side to a 14.30 diameter on the insdie with a 40 deg tilt in less than 4 hours that is roughing and finshing. We had one rapid move into the part and one rapid out of the part index and go to town. Other side has some undercutting with a Lolipop cutter. Made my surfaces, then my chains and then my 4 control line and done. No needing to lie to Mastercam and do not do this or do not do that or blah blah blah blah to cut the part. I cut it and done. I will repeat that encase you did not understand what I was saying. I CUT IT AND DONE!!!!!
  6. Hello Everyone. I am knee deep in a project and one of my others customers is trying to find a high end 5 axis guy. Good Paying very neat position. I have been interviewing people for them, but cannot help out for a few days with a new candidate. I put together these questions to help me get a fell for his experience. I would like to see what others think and if anyone had something to add to this list. Thanks as always for any help or suggestions.
