  1. I have been trying to use the tooltable output to let our setup guys and operators know what type of comp is used. We use either "control" or "wear" depending on the machine (I know, I'm trying to get everyone to use wear, but it's going to take some time) - The problem I've noticed is that the post will only catch the comp value from the first operation of each tool. This becomes a problem when the first op might not use any comp. For example; using a drill cycle with an endmill to peck the center of a feature & then follow with a contour toolpath. It would also be useful to scan all the toolpaths and give an error if the same tool is using different comp types in multiple ops. Can anyone tell me how to go about this? My post modifying skills are pretty decent; I've added a few misc. ops and tweaked thing here & there. Thank-you. -John
  2. Hi, new to the forum, and pretty new to modifying the post. I've only helped my supervisor at previous company modify a post. First thing first, I've already backed up my current post. I'm want to modify the post for my MasterCAM Mill 2017. I am using a CNT Motion Router using WinCNC for conrtol at the machine. I have 2 issues to solve regarding this issue: 1. The WinCNC software does not read a typical D## after it reads a G41/G42 for offset. The tool comp size is automatically read when the tool is loaded. I cannot have any D## callouts in my program because it is not supported by WinCNC. (there is only 1 comp. size available for each tool) Can someone give insight on how to remove this from my post? 2. I also need to have my G40/G41/G42 on their own line in my program. How can I accomplish this? I've made all these changes to the program by hand and confirmed they work. I just need mastercam to post the automatically. Here is an example of what my post creates now: [1/8" SINGLE FLUTED SPIRAL END MILL] M5 T2 M3 G0 X7.749 Y11.3001 S17500 G0 Z.5 G1 Z.1225 F100. G1 X7.762 G1 G42 D2 X7.775 G3 X7.723 Y11.3001 I-.026 J0. G1 G40 X7.7617 Y11.303 Here is an example of what I need: [1/8" SINGLE FLUTED SPIRAL END MILL] M5 T2 M3 G0 X7.749 Y11.3001 S17500 G0 Z.5 G1 Z.1225 F100. 3. Hi, im just wondering, how to use control compensation of thread mill for threads. I found option of it, but when i activate it, the tool is going straight to the "wall" how to do there an entry radius after perpendicular line and keep starting point at the centre? Im using "bottom to top" btw. Thanks for advice
  4. I am having a issue with a Helix milling cycle, on my PC when I post it and look at the code, it activates the cutter comp but does not turn in off and moves to its next location. I am guessing that it is dangerus to have cutter comp activated when it is doing positional moves. We did a test in a different file, everything identical and it turns it off. The only way to get rid of the problem is to do a perpendicular entry. Any thoughts?
