  1. After installing 2022 on my machine, trying to open .mcam files from Windows explorer results in the 2022 installer launching. I looked at the default program options by extension in Windows, and the .mcam extension is using 'McamVersionSelector Executable'. I'm sure this should open Mastercam 2020 for files last saved using that version, and 2021 or 2022 if that was last used. I don't want to just default all .mcam's to use 2022, as I don't want the older files constantly being updated to 2022 (we changed the posts and m. def locations etc.) when I want to make a small change or repost for a different machine. Anyone else had a similar issue?
  2. Good morning everyone, I wanted to get some different opinions on the best way to manage NC files in a medium sized production shop. The way we do it now is by grouping ALL of the relevant files for a part together (Mastercam file, NC files, Vericut files, Source files, etc.). While we've been able to keep things fairly organized, I feel that it has its limitations, especially when the operators need to grab the most up-to-date code for a particular job. Short of going with a full blown file management system (we've looked at Wintool to manage our tooling as well as their NC File Manager), what has worked, in your experience, to handle this just in the basic Windows Explorer environment? I've been thinking of having ALL of the NC files in one main folder that is then sub-divided by machine to make it easier for the operators, while retaining our traditional organization on the back end for us programmers. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Hi, is it possible to lock open MCX file for other users? We have more MC and when more users have opened same file in one time, we offen lost changes made by first user. Superb will be if the lock can work automatically during openning file, something like in word or excell.
  4. Hi, I am trying to transfer Macros with USB key into my AWEA 3016 using FANUC 31i controller. I successfully transfer 10 programs and when I try to transfer this following program into the CNC_MEMORY, instead of showing TRANFER COMPLETED, it wrote FILE NOTE FOUND. All the other programs that I transfered also looks like this, but this one I can't tranfer it, I don't understand. % O2102 #32=#25 #33=#26 G65P2001 X#1 Y#2 Z#3 G65P2003 A#1 B#2 C#3 D#4 E#5 F#3 K1. 5. Good morning all, Does anyone know where I can find the specification for the Machine Definition and Control Definition file formats? I'm looking to be able to edit the file directly as I don't have access to everything I need in a NetHook.
  6. Hi, I'm currently in a 3rd year engineering program at my high school. In that class, we have numerous licensed educational seats of Mastercam X6, along with lots of other pieces of dangerous-looking equipment, available to us. I also have a copy of Mastercam X6 HLE on my laptop which I need to use in order to finish a large project with a very short deadline we were recently given. So, here's my problem: After I'm done with the software part of the project, I have to create the part on a CNC. Now, as you probably know, X6 HLE was neutered specifically to prevent people from being able to do that. So, is it possible to open Mastercam X6 HLE files on a licensed copy of Mastercam X6 and then post the NC file so I can machine the part?
