Hi, I am new to this field and need to record cutting time from Makino V33 and V56 (Professional 5 Controller) using dprnt. Currently I am working on following macro to send text to machine internal card (attachment), which is configured as FTP server to receive gcode files from PC. My plan is that since 'Internal Card' folder is shared, my PC will be able to retreat dprnt result from machines if I could get the machine to write text or variable value to this folder as .txt file. Can I please have your advice on following questions: 1) Any way I can determine whether 'Internal Card' folder is a dataserver or flash card storage? 2) May I know the steps/code to dprnt variable value to 'Internal Card' folder? Do I need to have additional command like 'G10L52' & 'N20R4' to change channel no to 'Internal Card' folder? If yes, what channel number is required in this case. 3) As I know 'User Macro Action' has to be turned on for dprnt command to work. May I know how to turn on this parameter in my machines? Apart from Makino with Pro 5 controller, I looking for way to have same proposal to work for other machines with controllers like Fanuc 18i-M, 18i-Mb, Mori Seiki MSX-701 and Heidenhain etc. Any advice is appreciated Thank you. Some of you may not know you have FTP support in Mastercam now. Those of you with newer machines may use the FTP protocol for their communications. The new release of Mastercam's 2018 comes with the V8 series of the CIMCO editor and communications. One of the upgrades to the V8 editor was the support of FTP protocol.

I wrote a reply to this forum http://www.emastercam.com/board/topic/66927-data-server-ftp-questions/ But wanted to start a new one too. I've got a Makino V55 with the Pro3 control. It has a data server on it. I've configured PC as I think it should be and no luck. The data server puts up a message"incorrect login or password" I've tried to change passwords and login info on both sides to no avail. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've added exceptions in windows firewall and disabled the firewall. Nothing. I can ping the machine from the CMD prompt on the PC and it communicates there with a 2ms response time. I was asked by the FANUC tech on the phone if I'd tried to ping the computer from the machine. I don't know how. He couldn't tell me. I don't see an option for it anywhere. I've tried formatting the HDD. then added a program out of the control memory for a transfer attempt. Still same error. Any ideas? Bryan
