  1. Hi all, I am using someone else's program as a template to machine a part. I'm doing this because the part's are almost identical except for a few angles of some features. While redoing the avoidance geometry selection of an OptiRough path I had a bit of trouble finding what level the geometry/solid used for selection was on. I ended up just using the Arrow used to select additional geometry and then turning on and off levels one by one until I found the highlighted features. I believe someone once showed me a way to find level details very quickly but I think it was for something else other than Machining/Avoidance Geometry. I'm hoping there might be something similar to find the source faster than my current method. I need to re watch the 2 hour tutorial someone gave me on Vericut because I have a feeling it may be mentioned in there already....
  2. When looking for geometry on a certain level I noticed something. If you highlight your selected geometry by clicking on it in the selection window, it shows you a yellow dashed line of the geometry regardless of whether the level it's on is visible. If you leave that highlighted and then turn visibility for the level that the selected chain geometry resides on, then turn off the yellow highlight by exiting the chain selection it makes the geometry invisible on the level it actually resides in. you have to turn that level on and off again for it to reappear. Could this possibly be a video driver thing or does this still occur in 2023.
  3. I know that in the past, someone created something to help save levels out to individual files, but I would like to know if there is currently something out there. We receive die designs in a assembly of parasolids, when I open it, each detail comes in on its own level with the name and detail number as the level. I am looking for an easy way to break this down into individual files that take the name of the level they come from, thanks
  4. My coworkers and I are relatively new to Mastercam, so forgive me if this is a simple fix, but every time one of my coworkers goes to add a chain or change the parameters all the entities on his screen disappear, and the only way we have found to make them reappear is to go to the level manager and click the hide all button twice to make everything reappear. I am not sure if it is a setting, but we have tried replacing his configuration and workspace files to no avail the problem still persists. I would rather not have to reinstall Mastercam to fix the issue, so do any of you have any suggestions? I am stumped... Thanks,
  5. Amidst all the odd changes and Mastercam's idea to take simplicity away in 2017...How on gods green earth do you change levels?! I can't figure out how to move geometry to another level; the ease of being able to "right click" in the levels box for the entire X series and even back into the V series and having the change level box pop up was beyond convenient. Does it still exist?
