Comrades, I have been searching for machining and manufacturing industry-related wall posters to hang in our programming room. Believe or not, I have been have trouble doing so. I called Hass, Mori seki and Cimtech. Those company's said they would look into it; that has been weeks ago. By posters I mean mastercam and machine tool company advertisements types. I can make my own, but there is nothing like the industry posters grew up with. Does anyone know where I can find some posters or wall decals? Thank you, John B

Gents, are any of you aware of any educational tutorials on machining strategy's and Technics. Let me explain in more detail; an ALU hogout which has pockets, thin walls, holes, clevis, tight tolerance flatness call outs and tight true position call outs on holes ect.. The tutorials would cover different roughing methods and what tools work best based on the type of Matl and shape of the part. And the order in which one should rough away Matl and or leave some till the end for rigidity. I have seen many tutorials that can be purchased teach the in and outs of Mastercam but none on which part Features should be machined first and which ones you should save for last. Thank you, John

I am new to the surface machining and not sure if i have this part setup right or if i am doing the type of operation. I have attached Pictures of my Mastercam file showing all of the settings along with the result of the actual machining. I have also attached parasolids of the part after the roughing operations (just linear toolpaths, worked great) and after the final machining. The starting stock size is a 3/8" thick plate 6 1/2" x 10 1/2". The actual mastercam file is too large for me to add it to the post. Any help in figuring out how to prevent the goughes would be greatly apprecated. If anyone needs more information please let me know. Mastercam & Pics.pdf Part.zip

If i wanted to cut as many peices as i could out of a peice of sheet metal what kind of setup would i need. the peices are about .5*.5*.125(length*width*thickness). would i need to mill a underplate for the whole peice of sheet metal or is there a better way of doing it that doesnt require a hundred pound underplate. also how would i keep my parts from washing away and haveing to search for them. thanks.
