I have MasterCams Generic 5-axis post for haas mills and I'm pretty inexperienced with post processors. Currently the post processor outputs all of our code to be compatible with DWO (G254). Is there something in the misc integers/misc real I don't know about to post utilizing TCPC for our simultaneous operations? Or something in the post processor I need to change? Or do I just need to buy a more advanced post? Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

Hello and Good Morning! I have a plate looking like a pie (removing that pie form the whole circular billet). After facing, I am using 2D Dynamic mill to cut the edge. Parameters seems to be correct, however, the toolpath is not generating. It says invalid NCI. any help here, what could be the problem? Thank you in advance!

Recently I have started regularly using the multiaxis deburr toolpath on many of my parts. Most of my parts are run on some form of a 3 axis vertical machine. As shown in the screenshot, when the toolpath gets to a complex edge it seems to have a hard time figuring out a smooth path. It ends up producing a very jagged toolpath which takes a lot of extra time for the machine to run. I tried playing with the surface quality tolerance, and the chaining tolerance but that only seems to help a little. I can never seem to eliminate all of the roughness. My question is, is there a way to smooth out those corners? Or is it just a matter of being a complex edge and the software can only do so much with it? I have attached a mastercam file as an example. Please ignore speeds and feeds and other technicalities as I'm just trying to display the toolpath issues. I am running Mastercam 2022 and the tool I'm looking to use is a 1/4 diameter lollipop tool. If more information is needed please let me know, and thanks in advance for any help anyone can give on this topic. Deburr_Toolpath.mcam

My version of Mastercam is 3D Router. Is there a way to get the mill post files to convert to Router. Like converting the MPmaster mill post to a router post? I really need some help with simple post-editing and am having a hard time learning from videos. There is so much information. My Routers basically run with a HAAS heading, I need to add a few more codes to the heading and ending nothing complex, I just want to learn it myself. Why does Mastercam seem to keep post-editing a secret only for resellers? I spent plenty of $ on the software and I want to know how to use it properly.

I'm using a dynamic milling operation to cut out a "slot" I've tried several different ways to keep the tool down and engaged. I changed the "keep tool down within, turned off depth cuts, It continues to come out of the cut and go up in z then moves over to its next cut. I've attached the file if it helps to visualize it better. I just want the cut to stay engaged like a normal dynamic toolpath. mill online.mcam

Im trying to section out my code for an upcoming part. This is a basic program that is using a 3 axis vertical mill. I used section NCI on this program then import it back into mastercam. After importing it back in I go to post the code on each process but I get an error "ERROR- SELECT MACHINE ACHIEVABLE TOOLPLANE WITH Y-AXIS ALONG MACHINE Y - SET AND REPOST" Ive gone back through my program and made sure that my planes are correct. They are all set to top. I even went back through and re-selected my chains for my toolpaths. Since im only using a 3 axis mill and programing from the top plane, I cant see what else I could do to fix this. vie attached my file below with out the broken nci files attached Any suggestions? Hello Forum. It's been a long time since I've posted anything on here. Let's just say I could be considered a Noob. Maybe not that extreme but you get the idea. I'm working for a machine shop in southern Louisiana. I've been asked by my supervisor to find a way to produce a program which has the part program on top and any jaw or fixture program(s) under it in the same .NC file. This is for Mill programs only. I have been informed this was possible years ago by simply changing the program number and it would produce something similar to a subprogram for different Toolpath Groups. I do have a test program that is rather simple but I want to get an idea from the Forum members if this is possible with Mcam today. We're using 2019 so are a little behind. If it is proven to work in Mcam 2020 or later, that would be a good reason to update us to the latest release. Thank you.

Hi everyone I am new to Mastercam. I have gone through basic tutorials but now I need to perform machining simulation for this part that I have attached to this post. Would anyone kindly help me to setup toolpath for this particular part? It has double helix around a shaft. Would be thankful! Nirajan Pokhrel

Hey all, I am hooking up an aftermarket 4th axis to my HAAS VF-0 Mill and use Mastercam to program it. What Im missing is how does, or where does Mastercam have a "BUTTON" to initiate the rotation? I have MC2018.

I have a part that has a lot of wavy 3d work on the Top. I would like to set the part up at a slight angle in order to avoid engaging with only the tip of my ball mill. Is there a way to set set up '18 to compensate for the part sitting at say a 15 degree angle? Thanks in advance for any help
