  1. Hello, I am using an older version of mastercam X3 from 2007. I use an assortment of older machines so every post I've had to edit to make it work, however, I am having some trouble getting my edits to do what I want this time and after looking everywhere and spending several hours trial error all I have is error.. What I want to do is move some of the comments around. I want to remove the properties - " " from the operation manager from showing up before a tool change to save memory. I want to move it to the header area under "program number", "created on", and above "material". I have tried an assortment of ways but nothing works so far. How would I go about this? The reason I want it moved above is because I'm not always the one running the machine so we always check the program for which machine it's supposed to be used on so we don't crash. The issue is that I have to manually add this line in ever single time and it's a little tedious OR I completely forget... For the life of me I can't figure out what to do because any time i move the line comment$ and pcan it removes all the checked (from machine file check boxes) to my comment area but leaves them on consecutive tools ... If anyone can help that would be great.
  2. Hello everyone, I'm having trouble configuring the generic fanus 5 axis post. I have a c/b head setup but when I tell the B axis to rotate 90 degrees during a TPlane change, it tilts up much further than 90 degrees. Is there a way to calibrate the postprocessor so that the B axis is in the correct angle? Values for rotary limits seem to only accept units such as millimeters, however 90mm does not correspond to 90 degrees on my machine. Thanks, John.
  3. Hi all. Some years ago there was a post explaining how to get a G13 in NC by creating a custom drill and editing the postpro. I tried that, but it doesn't work; I'm doing something wrong. Maybe I don't write the code in the right place, or maybe I don't do the right thing into Mastercam (X9) postpro tag. Could someone help me, please? I'm learning a lot of things thanks to all of you, but maybe this one is "too hard" for me Thank you
  4. Hello MasterCam'ers My first post on here so I will try and keep it short; I recently started a great new job where Mcam has been made available to me and im doing my best to pick everything up. I've been working through a flurry of training material and am understanding things relatively well so far... in a bite-sized-chunks sort of way. However. As I work under someone with considerably more experience and skill than myself, I have noticed that the ability to tweak post processors here and there is a massive help! Sadly it makes little sense to me, but im willing to put some hours each week toward building a basic understanding and hopefully one day I will be able to make some tweaks myself. Im just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for some instructional material. Even if its "well you need to learn to read code, it will take years..." - it seems worth the effort from what I see each day. Many thanks to anyone who does bother to skim through this
