  1. Hello Mastercam community, I'm facing an issue with my 5-axis program in Mastercam, and it's a bit of a puzzle. There's an operation where my machine performs an unnecessary 180° rotation in the C-axis, and it's not consistent. To provide more context, here's what's been happening: This isn't the first time; it's been an ongoing issue. Sometimes it occurs, and other times it doesn't. It's a bit frustrating. I've experimented with different solutions. For instance, I've tried changing the rotation vector by a few degrees, and in some cases, it seems to fix the problem. However, there are moments when this solution doesn't work, and the issue persists. What's most perplexing is that even with the same input, the outcome varies. Sometimes it works perfectly, and sometimes it doesn't. I primarily use curve operations for this. I've double-checked my settings, but I can't seem to pinpoint a consistent cause. If anyone has faced a similar situation or has insights into what might be causing this, I'd really appreciate your input. It's a bit of a mystery, and I'm eager to resolve it. Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences. To provide more details, here's the G-code for the operation 180° C-Axis Rotation Issue with 5-Axis Program.SPF
  2. Hi everyone, what are your favorite methods to keep your part rotated toward the operator while doing 5 axis? So far I have been lucky by doing a little re arranging of ops to keep the part visible but I have this part where I am machining the left and right sides and when i post them individually they rotate to the operator but when i post both the second side rotates to the back of the machine. Also curious about which way positive A and B axis rotation should be on your standard 5 axis...on the 5 axis machines here if i rotate to A-90 the rotary platter faces the doors/operator....which is opposite of how our 4th axis rotaries move....Anyway just looking for some good resources.
  3. Hi, I'm a newbie at using G68, so having some issues. i have a square casting that has a round boss on the bottom, i have to hold the round boss and machine the square. i want to use G68 to make sure I'm machining square but also need to set the G54 in the middle of the square casting not of the round boss. i have written what i thought would work but I'm having issues with where the controller stores the macro angular change. I have tried using a G54 for the datum and G55 for just the angle but they store in the same place and keep over writing. % O0 (SQUARE PILOT) (T25|6MM PROBE|H25) (T6|10 MAPAL|H6) (T10|16. 4. Ok so now I feel dumb. I am trying to program a Haas DT30 with a TRT100 5 axis rotary. I have a simple facing toolpath which doesn't require any rotation. Planes are set correct. When I post code it is creating a 5 axis tool path. Now I can select the generic fanuc post and it posts out fine. I have narrowed it down to the post and I can not for the life of me figure out why it is doing this. Anyone have this issue? All other tool paths seem fine except for the facing.
