post care maintenance coverage

New line item showed up on my quote for mastercam software maintenance.  Can someone explain to me what Post Care Maintenance Coverage is for one of my posts?

Gibbs started doing this not too long ago. Post mods used to be free for maint customers, now you have to pay for it. Prolly the same with MC. Gotta squeeze every dollar you can.

The post is most likely a Postability post. Here is what I was sent on PostCare back in 2018. I'm sure you can request a more up to date one from your reseller.

 

PostCare Maintenance Policy
PostCare Maintenance Coverage
Post edits, including Mastercam version release updates, provided upon request.
Continued access to a current ‘engine-synched’ version of an end user post processor that will include
our latest Unified Post Kernel. This will include any feature enhancements, bug fixes, and ongoing
support of new Mastercam toolpaths and programming options.
We do not cover support for additional equipment not present at the time of the original delivery (i.e.
add-on rotaries, heads, control retrofits). No migration to different Mastercam products permitted: We
only support the original Mastercam product for which the post was intended.
We do not provide support for new custom programming practices. For example, the addition of longhand custom deep hole drilling cycles would not be covered under PostCare Maintenance.
Non-Maintenance Support
After the Mastercam Maintenance Anniversary date has passed and an end user is not on Postability
PostCare Maintenance, any support will be charged at an hourly rate.
Projects with defined scope will be quoted at a fixed price.
Mastercam Versions Supported
Postability will only support the current Mastercam release and the 4 previous versions. e.g. X7
through 2018.
Reporting
Customers will be required to provide us with Mastercam Maintenance Anniversary dates as part of the
post ordering process. (Mastercam Version, Product, Maintenance Anniversary)
To cover existing posts, Postability will contact each direct customer with a list of their posts.
Once Postability has Mastercam Maintenance Anniversary dates on file, we will proactively provide
renewal lists 90 days out / 60 days out, etc.
Why Now?
As Postability enters its 10th year in business, we must clearly define the limits to our support offerings.
Our list of installed post processors is growing exponentially. Our PostCare Maintenance program will
help us maintain our reputation for quality products and unsurpassed service.
