Customise repetitive tasks on Mastercam with VBScript

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm looking to write a VBscript macro on Mastercam in order to customise (or automate) repetitive tasks already done on mastercam. In other word, create interface between the user and mastercam.

Can someone help me or give me any idea how to do that?

any other relevant information will be welcomed!

Thank you

Dear James,

I need some helps to go through developing VB script macro or C-Hook function on Mastercam

I could not understand how I can use and run VBScript or C-hhok macros on Mastercam?

I'm looking to automate repetitive tasks which I’ve done to choose geometry for creating tool paths, to handle operations, to setups jobs by changing operations’ parameters…. I don’t know how to start because I miss information about C-Hook and how to make link between Visual C++ and mastercam, or to use VBScript or where can I find feature's code?

How can I proceed to run the VBScript macro on it?

I’m using Mastercam Version 9.0 SP1

I’m new and starting from the beginning …

Thank you for your helps,

Sincerely,

Guys,

There are a number of example VBScripts located in your mcam9vb folder, I would suggest that you start there by running some of the samples to see exactly what they do and then edit them to see the code.

Depending on your experience you may want to start with some simple examples and go from there, ideally look for examples of automation that you are looking to do. If you don't find any scripts that come close to what you need feel free to reply to this post and I will respond accordingly.

To run a VBScript from v9 you can press ALT-C and select mcamvb.dll (VBScript CHook), when the small dialog displays you have the option to create, edit or run a VBScript. To make life easier I would recommend binding a key to the CHook, I like to use F12.
