Learning Issues-Any guidance?

Recommended Posts

I am having trouble trying to put together several things; any suggestions or guidance would be appreciated.

I have installed the following:

Visual Basic Express

Visual C++ Express

Microsoft PSDK

MasterCam SDK

Issues:

1. Using the help files that come with MasterCam SDK, and trying to build a c-hook with C++, I cannot get a program to build successfully. It inevitably errors at the bottom and shows that I have yet another file missing. Do I just need to re-install all software, and if so what order should I do this in?

2.When using any of the associated help files provided from mastercam, everything is based off the 2003 version and it makes it very hard for a newbie such as myself to navigate and learn. Are there any new help files available?

I have even looked at the old documentation provided with ver.9 but I am failing to put much together(For VB)

I have no guidance other than the forum, any tips for starting out on the right foot would be appreciated. Are there any simple projects out there that pertain to using mastercam and creating hooks and scripts that would be usefull to me? Where is the best place to start other than in the middle of chaos? cuckoo.gif

If you use the express edition,

mfc is not supported, so you have to remove mfc/AFX(Application Framework eXtensions )related things.
