How to set Mastercam X3 for debugging

I am developing the C-Hook with Mastercam X3 under VS2005.

 

I set the Debugging settings in project properties as following:

Command: C:McamX3sdkdebugMastercam.exe

Working Directory: C:McamX3

 

When I start the debugger. the following message comes up:

 

Unable to start program 'C:McamX3sdkdebugMastercam.exe'.

 

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Review the manifest file for possible errors. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. For more details, please see the application event log.

 

 

By the way, I can use the VS debugger with X2 with the similiar settings.

 

Anybody can tell me how to set the configuration for X3 debugging.

 

Any help will be appreciated.

Your settings sound correct.

I've never seen the error message that you described.

 

Q? Can you startup the debug version of X3 outside of Visual Studio?

 

A quick and easy test, just create a shortcut->

Target = C:McamX3SDKdebugMastercam.exe

Start in = C:mcamx3

Answer: I can't.

I tried to create a shorcut on the desktop with the settings you mentioned above.

 

I got a error message as following:

 

C:Macamx3sdkdebugMastercam.exe

By the way, there are following Mastercam versions installed on my computer:

Mastercam 9/X/X2/X3

 

If I change the settings of the Shortcut to be with X2, it works.

Target = C:McamXSDKdebugMastercam.exe

Start in = C:mcamx

I get the same error. But it turns out you do not need to use Mcamx3sdkdebugMastercam.exe. Just point to the regular non-debug application Mcamx3Mastercam.exe and start it under debugger. You may get the pop-up message about Mastercam.exe not having debug information. Just ignore it, and the execution will stop at the break point in you C-hook.

However, I can't use the non-debug version mastercam.exe. If I use it for debuging, I can't load my debug version C-Hook.

Certainly, It will stop at the break point, if I am using the release version. But it doesn't contain the debug information.

I was able to load the debug version of the C-hook when I was experimenting last week. Have you tried, or are you just guessing?

I tried. I failed.

I think the the resource is the source of the issue.

i'm have this prolem too in my shop i'm use x3 and x4 in vista windows,,,,, can't using postdebugger icon post, but try in home xp use x3 working good?,anyone have idea?
