Hello bri hin,

My apologies for not seeing this topic earlier! If you are looking for where to download the files themselves, they can be found here: https://www.emastercam.com/files/file/1184-mastercam-x9-training-files/

They can also be found by going to www.emastercam.com/trainingfiles or by going to www.emastercam.com and clicking "downloads" from the navigation bar, then selection "Training Files Referenced in Books" and then clicking on the version of Mastercam you're using.

If you're having troubles opening the tutorial files in Mastercam, here's what you do. First, launch the Mastercam X9 Home Learning Edition/Demo software. Once it's loaded, click on File > Open, and browse to where you extracted the tutorial files you downloaded earlier. In the lower-right corner of the Open window there will be a dropdown menu for file types. Click it and choose "SOLIDWORKS Files (*.sldprt; *.sldasm)". Then, click on the file you want to open (e.g., Tutorial #5.SLDPRT) and click on "Options" next to the open button. From the options menu, make sure "Solids" is selected under Options, check "Edge Curves" and check "Use System Color for Imported Solids." Then click the green checkmark/OK button and then click "Open."

If you are experiencing a different problem or receiving an error message please let me know the details of your issue.

Regards,

Daniel Gingras
