I am new here, but an old user of Mastercam, my latest version is 2005, which I think is the original X. I am now retired and have a CNC mill/lathe in my garage which I enjoy. I am an ex moldmaker and have done most of my time using Mastercam Mill. Because my hobby machine has the capability to turn as well I am teaching myself Mastercam lathe. I am currently working on a project to machine Chess pieces and have been successful in changing the generic MPFAN post to cut radii instead of diameters, but now I am having problems with the finishing toolpath following the contour through X+ and X- movement along the contour. At one point along the way, I came across a page that allowed you to choose which way the tool was going to move, and it showed that moving along the Z axis it would cut radii which would allow X+ and X- movement. I have since changed my approach to the way I want to machine the job but cannot find my way back to the page that allows the choice of tool direction. Can anybody please help me wioth this.
Thank you
Mastercam X

I found the page that I was looking for. It is the tool plunge settings.
