Solid Drilling with named views

Hello,

 

Has anyone got Solid drilling to work on a typical part using named views or the WCS?

 

I tried it a long time ago in a Horizontal mill application and I could not get it to work. I then tried it in a very simple Top view(system)application and it did.

mike,

you are right, solid drill has problems with tplane selection when you use the WCS in another plane. Good news is that it seems to work fine in the March 04 Maintenance Release. That should be available to end users in a couple weeks.

I am on Maintenance, so I am glad.

 

I am wanting to, if possible at some point try to switch over to machining solids exclusively.

 

About 80% of the time, I am programming multi-axis machines. Because of that I always create a solid model of the part.

 

If I could machine solids only, it would be much faster when the part has a revision change and also much much cleaner.
